Broken Radio Button
bongobobny replied to camos's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
About the only place is from another junk radio controller... I used to have some spares but I think I gave the last one away about a year or so ago. This is, unfortunately, a common problem. -
Hmmm, you don't know Becky that well then! That ain't happening!!!

I'm a little late on this thread, but after reading the first couple of posts I was going to suggest looking at your proportioning valve. There's not a lot inside, pretty much just a spring and piston but the orifices could be blocked... The function of the proportional valve is to cause a slight delay in the delivery of hydraulic fluid to the front brake when the rear brake pedal is pressed. The spring rate determines the time constant of the delay. There is also a metering valve located near the front forks on the underside of the frame near the battery box. It is a simple orifice that regulates hydraulic flow to the front brake. How well is the one front brake working?? Wow, it's been a while, I think it is the right front that is linked to the rear, but if I am wrong somebody correct me...

Thanks, Dave!! I would say I'm about 95% now, just an occasional twang if I move the wrong way or try to pick something off of the floor...

Sometimes you just have to unplug them for a few minutes, and then reprogram them, Don! Mine did that once, as near as I can figure out I must have accidently hit a couple of the buttons and put ours in hibernate...

Well, good news! Last night I was able to sleep in bed both on my back and on my side with minimal discomfort!! The only hard part is setting up from a reclined position. I guess I could have just stayed in bed... So, I'm definitely on the mend!

Silver T, this site would be rather empty without your usual wit!!!

Yup, my thought too, it's just that the pistons traveled too far and are extended to the point that they went past the seals. You will probably notice that the front pad still has some pad left on it, it is common for the inside pad to wear faster than the outside one. What some of us do is when you change the oil, rotate the rear pads...

Hope I haven't upset anybody I shouldn't have.

Nah!! If anything your sense of humor has been improving Dan! I can't think of anything here or on FB that would have offended anyone, except maybe some Libtard... -

Carb synch problem
bongobobny replied to mralex714's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Well, if not the TCI, then as suggested replace the plug caps, or for that matter all the wires and caps! I would also look at the coil secondary inside where the plug wire inserts for the dreaded green crud!! Also, when you replace the plug wires after looking do not forget to cut off about a 1/4" so the tang in the coil makes a good connection with the wire and make sure you have the rubber o ring on the coil wire as well so the wire will not vibrate out... -
Well, good news this morning, I was able to sleep on my back last night!!! I still had my upper body elevated somewhat as I have been sleeping on the couch but once I got into position, as long as I didn't move an inch it was tolerable and relatively pain-free. The hard part was getting back up this morning but the discomfort was nowhere near as bad as it was the past couple of days!! The best thing was that I was able to elevate my feet as my ankles were quite swollen from the last few days! They look normal today! So, thank you all for your prayers, I am a strong believer in the power of prayer!! As far as I am concerned healing comes from God the Father and he hears all prayers! So it's working, folks, keep it up and I'm sure I'll be back to normal soon!!

Yes, other than not being able to lie down either on my back or side, I'm just fine!! As a matter of fact, I just came in from snow blowing and shoveling for an hour and a half! I can sort of lie down on my back as long as I have a couple of pillows under my head and shoulders, can not lie flat! Unfortunately, within 5 minutes or so I will start to feel pain, and then I try moving or getting up and bingo, lots and lots of pain until I am sitting upright. After a minute or so the pain goes away and I'm back to normal. Forget about being on my side, no way Jose!! Haven't heard a thing about my X-Rays yet, and now do not expect to until Monday. Oh well, no news is good news I guess...

OK went to the Doctor, followed by X-Rays. Very painful having to lie down on my back, downright excruciating! I got a prescription for muscle relaxers, but no pain pills other than extra strength Tylenol. Hopefully, I will hear something back about the X-Rays tomorrow or Monday...
