  1. Yup, call me an old fogie, but I never have been a fan of lane splitting. Too many stupid people out there...
  2. I agree, Tom, Pioneer Motorsports is a very good dealership. I can remember them in their old location, small building but good service...
  3. Like Giga says, go wireless only invest in an extended range router and you probably won't need repeaters. Mine works throughuot the house and into the yard!
  4. Been there, done that! Handles better than a trike but that's about all I'll say about it. I'd rather spend the money on a conversion kit instead...
  5. Hey Tom, the pleasure was all mine!! My wife walked in literally right after you left! You must have bumped in to her as you were walking out. She drives that Inferno Red '02 Intrepid R/T that was parked in front of the door. Come to find out, that guy behind the counter, Hank, is the son of my cousin who also works at Moog! Small world! My new Elite II will be in next week. Fer sure we will do a lot of riding this summer. Lots of events for you to attend as well. BTW that sure is a pretty ride you have.
  6. Welcome aboard! Fairings are getting hardr and harder to locate these days, but can still be found for a reasonable price. Is yours completely missing or just has cracks? there is a lot of products out there specifically for repairing plastic and even replacing missing pieces. Devcon, and Plastex are a couple of the most popular. You want the double syringe type epoxy specifically for plastic. There have been several threads discussing plastic repair. I'm sure you will enjoy the people here and make a lot of new friends!!
  7. We decided NO NEW PROJECTS this year except to finish a couple of things that didn't quite get finished last year, and spend more time riding and entertaining friends...
  8. I'm pretty sure they are replacible left to right but not front to back. I may have a spare one laying around somewhere if you wanted to take a 4 - 5 hr ride up here...
  9. When's your first trip across the border going to be??
  10. Welcome aboard!!! Great bunch of people here!
  11. Got Goldie out of the shed and into the garage. Unfortunately I never hooked up the trickle charger so battery was at 10.8V. Found out my battery charger took a dump so hooked up the trickle charger this morning. The battery is now up to around 11.9V... Gonna go to Sears and buy a new charger tomorrow.
  12. I'm with Carl!! I remember this one old guy that always said "Son, it's nice to be nice..."
  13. I broke 3 ribs when I dumped my CX650, guess that means I can wear one of those patches too!! Let me know when you find a non-Harley one! Soooo glad you are on the mend so well, looking forward to seeing you at Marcarls next month!
  14. The electric fuel pump on my old '64 MGB. Kept the batteery cover off and a hammer close by in the back for when,, as I was cruising down the highway, the fuel pump stoped going click click. A couple of persuasive taps and then clickety click click and all was well again...
  15. Looks pretty good and if that is the true mileage it ould be a heck of a deal. Clutch problem could be the master cyl or slave cyl. Only a short time left... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Venture-1984-Yamaha-Venture-NO-RESERVE-03-136_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6718QQihZ013QQitemZ230238626987QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  16. Hmmmm, didn't see that one...
  17. Probably a "Wing" or maybe a Beemer...
  18. We WERE planning on attending, unfortunately we have a wedding to go to that day so I guess we will have to wait until next year...
  19. The difference being the newer 1st gens had a bracket welded on to them for fastening the lower fairing scoop to them. They are physically interchangable otherwise.
  20. It could also be broken solder on the pin of the dash onnnector, or corrosion on the connector should you find that both brake light bulbs are lit... If you replace the bulbs with LED's that will also cause the light to come on.
  21. Yes, they are standard metric bolts available at Home Depot, Lowes, or any good hardware store. You should use zinc plated if posible for rust reasons. The rubber grommets are where the side panels hook in, and they can be acquired at the same places. Sorry, it's been a couple of years since my fairings were off, but I will have them off some time this year for front fork replacement...
  22. Hey Big Tom, sure was nice yesterday. Lots of bikes out in WNY but unfortunately mine wasn't one of them. I see you are local. We should get together some time!
  23. Welcome aboard!! You don't HAVE to be crazy to be a member here, but it sure helps!!
  24. Ahhh-ahh-ahhhh-ah-choooo! Hope you feel better soon!
