  1. We were going to go ut unfortunately there is a family wedding for that day so I sort of can't get out of it... Are you mplanning on going up to Marcarl's meet and eat on the 24th? We will be leaving early (i.e. around 9 or so) fom our place. We plan on staying overnight Saturday in a hotel/motel and coming home Sunday...
  2. Brain implants???
  3. Great idea, Don!!
  4. only 19 years, but we both were married 2 times before...
  5. Several of us, I'm sure! Generally we pick one up on ebay but lately they have been going for $100. I piicked mine up for around $40 but unfortunately it won't work on an '83. Heck, some of us have spare bikes for parts...
  6. Been praying for both of you right along, and will continue to do so!
  7. Hmmmm, the second one says $20 USPS for me, and the other one is $14 UPS, which sounds pretty much in line to me...
  8. Just remember that they are 4" Square and not 4" round style...
  9. To my knowledge, all 1st gen seats are the same...
  10. No, I can't read it, I'm to busy typing a silly response...
  11. Yah! They do handle strange with a soft tire, don't they?!!? Don't ask how I know...
  12. They generally go for over $50 on ebay which is a bargain considering the dealers want close to $200 for a new one! I was going to try an experiment by taping a set of bases with a 10mm tap so that you could screw in aftermarket mirrors, but the guy who was going to send me the bases must have forgotten about me...
  13. Yah! Got outbid (sniped) on an '85 trunk advertised as an '84...
  14. Just prayed and will continue to do so. Also prayed for you too, my friend...
  15. I have also heard that you can modify a set of Gold Wing covers to fit. Keep in mind that the ones on ebay are used as none have been made new for many years, so it is not uncommon for them to be pitted and rusted.
  16. How did you check the spark? Did you pull the plugs or just the wires to check the spark? The reason I ask is that you mentioned you ran seafoam thru, and that could have loosened a lot of gunk from the carbs, valves, etc and fouled out the plugs. You may want to consider a new set of plugs, even if yours are fairly new. Hey, it never hurts to have a spare set around if you find there is nothing wrong with your curwnt plugs...
  17. Thanks, everyone! Yes, I am very concerned as I have to stand and walk at work and I realy want to finish the last five years of my career before retiring. Also, and equally as important, Becky and I realy enjoy riding. If anything were to happen, yes I will trike out my ride so that we can continue to ride for many more years. Looking forward to seeing many of you in the next few months. While I am recovering in August feel free to stop in and visit. I plan on spending most of the time soaking up rays on the deck!!
  18. HOORAY!!! Now if the good weather would come back...
  19. Don't forget to replace that rubber seal that is on the block where the clutch rod goes thru, or you wil be taking the slave off again in a few months!!! Also, when you take the middle cover off, the bottom screw has a coper washer which is really a gasket. Oil will come out of the thread that the screw is screwed into. The threads go all the way thru on that one...
  20. Well, I talked to the Doctor yesterday, and he has agreed to postpone the surgery until August. That means I can make it to Marcarls and the International Rally!! Unfortunately Ashville will be out of the question, and I was sooo looking forward to meeting that crowd. They will be just removing the bone that my middle toe is conected to, but will leave the toe itself on "for decoration." Also, the recovery time wil be just a few weeks instead of the few months I had anticipated. Also, it should not affect my balance, so I guess I can postpone triking out Goldie for another couple of years yet. Thanks to al of you who have been praying for me as it means a LOT to me...
  21. I feel sorry for the guy, but I gotta agree with Squid...
  22. I already bought one of those RM Stators and although I have not installed it yet, I was quite pleased with the dealer. Good price, and prompt shipping. The dealer claims better than stock performance from the unit. I'll find out for sure when I get around to updating mine...
  23. I know I have one... somewhere... Give me a couple of days, Brad, I'll hook you up...
  24. Yup. Chevron Delo 400 15W-40 here, cheap and works great!! Usually buy the gallon from Auto Zone. Because of the "Wet" clutch you want to avoid friction inhibitors like the plague. Your clutch works on "friction." Yah, the dealers want too much for the stock Yama filters. Good old Wally World should have what you need...
  25. Becky and I will be ther as well, and am already registered. I have to have a toe removed from my left foot, not sure when, but will be at the rally anyways even if we have to cage it!!! Hopefully we will be on the scoot though. Wouldn't miss it for the world!!!
