  1. Spent yesterday in the Emergency Ward with a very bloated stomach and having a very hard time breathing. My esophagus was, and still is inflamed and still hurts to breathe. My stomach was so bloated that it pushed my diaphragm way into my lungs and colapsed the lower lobes. CAT scan also revealed that I have a very large bladder (2 liter) and an enlarged prostate. Large bladder is normal for me, but now I'm going to have to have the prostate thing investigated. Anyway, we didn't get home until 2 in the morning, and we went to the ER 2 in the afternoon. I'm feeling better but not up to par yet. This is a heck of a way to make sure I stay off my feet so much and give my foot a chance to heal...
  2. I had the same problem, but just went to a different site, came back, and all was well...
  3. Wish I could, Paul, but unfortunately I'm temporarily grounded...
  4. Absolutely adorable!
  5. Yup, Todd, you sure did some damage this time! Sorry, but I think I'm fresh out of front fairing frames, I think Saddlebum got my last one. May or may not have a serviceable right mirror... Glad you are able to tell us about it from home and not the Emergency Room!!
  6. Marcarl and Wizard765 came down for a visit and to help out today in spite of the rain. We had a wonderful afternoon of friendship and actually got a few things done around herre as well! Had a great lunch, and then knocked a couple more things off one Honeydoo list! I also want to thank JGorom for coming down to install the window AC units the week I was in the Hospital, one of the hottest weeks of the season. Many thanks, James, you are a true friend. Also a big Thank You to Big Tom for coming down last weekend and changing the blade on my lawn mower as well as getting the lawn mowed! You're #1 Tom! And of course thanks Carl and Wayne for sharing the day, it means so very much. Keep on coming over, folks, you don't have to do any work, just spend some time and help pass the day. I'm stuck here for a couple of months most likely...
  7. Yah! I'm seeing several thousand dollars worth of damage, not to mention hit and run which I believe is a felony if not a major misdeminor. Hope you don't find out the scumbag doesn't have insurance, or the girl doesn't have a licence or something...
  8. I painted my new piggy backer with plain old aerosol cans, but had a problem with the factory paint lifting in spots, kind of like when you paint laquer over enamal. I didn't prime or seal, so maybe you should shoot the surface with a primer/sealer first...
  9. Welcome aboard, Rob!! You don't have to be carzy here, but it sure helps!! This is one of the most friendly and giving sites around. I'm sure you will make many friends here!
  10. You might try squirting some technician-in-a-can (contact cleaner) into the switch a few times while you switch it vigorously on and off to help rejuvinate it...
  11. I would probably be dead by now if I hadn't quit smoking. Quit cold turkey and never looked back...
  12. Yup, that's exactly what it sounds like to me, too, air still in the line. Or, could be your bleeder is not tight or leaking, or a brake line is a little loose. Check everything for signs of seepage. Small leaks will maks the pedal spongy and require pumping up, and they will still fade after a while...
  13. Big Tom came over today and changed the blade on my lawnmower and cut the grass for me, for which I am very greatful. I feel so helpless not being able to do so many things. What I also really appreciated was the company as I'm going stir crazy because I'm usually a very active person always doing something. Now, if I can get somebody to spray my fruit trees, and do a little landscaping project I started and didn't quite finish...
  14. You know, there IS a date code stamped on each and every tire asto the date of manufacture, even for motorcycle tires. It will be on one side in a rectangular outlined area with a few letters such as MC followed by a few numbers. The last 3 or 4 digits are the important ones. the first are the week of the year manufactured, followed (hopefully) by 0X (i.e. 06 + 2006). if there is no 0 before the last number, that means it was manufactured before 2000 such as the number 7 without a zero in front of it was manufactured in 1997 or even worse 1987. I just replaced the front tire on mine not due to tread wear but rather physical age. The tire industry recommends that you do NOT use a tire older than 6 years old, or you run the risk of the tire casing separating. Hmmmmm. wonder if there is a batch of very old Metzler tires being distributed across the US and Canada...
  15. Saddlebum has a 1st Gen and yes indeed they still have the stock sizes. Just put 2 brand new ones on mine due to the front was way old, and the rear was worn out. I've been a little concerned about recent members problems with Avons, and my dealer said he had a few complaints from customers about the Avons. Perhaps they had a bad batch get out...
  16. Just prayed, and will continue to do so. Prayers do work, I know this firsthand...
  17. 46 mpg?? Man, I'm happy to get anything over 40mpg, but then again I am a speedy rider...
  18. Pretty close match, I'd say...
  19. Good thing I won't be buying anything for a while... Enjoy the vacation, you deserve it!!
  20. Actually, that price seems pretty much in line. I paid around $180 for my Elite II with a 25% discount. My cousin's son is the service manager at our local dealer...
  21. I really really really wish I could have been there for the presentation!! Great batch of photos!
  22. Do you need a new bell, Ken? If so give me your addy and I'll send you one...
  23. Maybe some weekend we will come down and worship with you, Gary.
  24. Yah, Craig, I'm sure you will find that there are a LOT of members that are the same way. There's just something about this site that attracts caring and giving people...
  25. Wow! I am impressed at all the people that responded here and those that called and sent cards! We certainly ARE one big caring family here! Hopefully I will be on 2 wheels by July for the rally but if not we will cage it up there anyway. In the mean time, if you are looking for a destination, feel free to drop by and visit. We love company here. I'm not going anywhere for a while...
