  2. Where in New York state are you? If you are on the western side maybe I can help you fix it...
  3. Well, obviously you have one good horn and one bad horn. The previous post is good information and your horn switch is obviously not working as one of your horns work. Hmmm, maybe it's a good time to switch to Steibel air horns...
  4. You'll be up and running (no pun intended) in due time! Just let nature do it's thing in it's own time! In the mean time enjoy the time off! Yes, I definately know how hard that is myself as I am very active too! Take it easy for a while, brother!
  5. Geez, what a bunch of whiners! I'm gonna be 61 in a couple of weeks and love my 1st gen! Whatcha gonna make of that?!!? Huh? Huh?? Wanna piece of me? Can't you just feel the love on this site...
  6. OK we are really psyched up for this weekend!! I have discovered that I really need a heel/toe shifter with the Markland floorboards I installed. Anyone got an extra 1st gen shifter lever?? Maybe I can have the arm cut off and welded onto my shifter. Brakes are bled and it did make a difference. Trailer got inspected yesterday so we are good to go. Sleepy, yes I did look at some of the pictures and you did an awesome job!! That stretch 1st gen S'Cool bus is outrageous!! Uhhh, nice legs on the driver... Waterloo Phil, yes we will have to ride as soon as we get back! Weekdays are good for us as well so we don't have to wait for the weekend. Everyone else, thanks for the well wishes. This group is awesome!!
  7. Way to go, DT!!! Doesn't it make you feel great to be of help to someone?!!? I totally agree with "Pay It Forward" and practice it whenever I can as well. What goes around comes around. You have made the world just a little bit better to live in...
  8. No, you are NOT buying it from me, it is free as a gift!!!!!!!
  9. The horn switch supplies ground to the horns when pressed. If you are seeing 12 volts on both wires while still connected to the horn, that is normal as the voltage just goes thru the horn and out the other side until ground appears. When ground appears (horn button pushed) current is drawn, and the hot side is 12 volts and the other side is 0 volts, ground...
  10. OK found it and it will be sent this afternoon. You probably won't see it for a while due to "Custioms" but don't worry about the postage, I'm sure it's not much.
  11. I have one left, I think. PM me your address and I'll get it out tomorrow..,.
  12. If it is a "Ventureline" the brackets with the big rectangular holes (diamond shaped that the backrest bracket goes thru and are secured by clevis pins) mount to both the bracket that the helmet locks are mounted on, and to the saddlebag crash bars on that rectangular area where the black plastic end caps are mounted. if you really need a picture I'll see what I can do but I'm kind of busy gettrin g ready for Asheville...
  13. Thanks, everybody!! We are really looking forward to leaving this Satrurday for a two week ad-Venture! Brakes need bleeding before I go anywhere but we'll handle it! Really looking forward to seeing a few old friends and meeting some new ones as well! The Piggybacker seems to pull very well but I wish I would have had time to put a swivel hitch on. Big Tom, you betcha we will go riding when we get back! We will be back on the 15th but that weekend is booked solid. We will put something together as soon as possible...
  14. Hmmmmm, does that qualify for the $5 donation rule??
  15. Hmmmm, B.B. King. Maybe Friday would be a good nite for the blues. We'll give it some thought...
  16. Yes indeed, no dumb questiona at all!! Just some dumb answers sometimes... Welcome aboard and feel free to post any time. Yes, we like pictures!
  17. ...and it felt REALLY good!! Goldie is running great with the new plugs and wires, and we now have XM radio as well! My foot is still a little sore but nothing intolerable. The incision is almost completely healed over, just a little bit more to go. I have a hard time tolerating standing for any length of time but riding has no discomfort at all!! See you at Asheville!
  18. Ditto to what BuddyRich said!!
  19. We may come down for a 3 day wekend for that!
  20. Plus, it's a Standard, not a Royale, and I don't see much aftermarket on there...

    parts help

'86 up had 4 piston calipers as opposed to 2 piston calipers, and the bolt spacing is different, therefore the calper covers won't fit. I'm not 100% sure on the rotor covers though, they may either fit or can be made to fit...
  24. Awwww, you guys are making me blush!! Charlie, glad you value your "Ding-a-ling" and I guess if it's not on your bike, then your pants are a good place for it...
