    In NY if you take the terst on 2 wheels you get a MC indorsement that lets you drive both 2 and 3 wheels. If you take the test on a trike, you can't ride 2 wheels. Nobody ever showed up for their test on a unicycle yet that I know of...

    There all pretty much the same, Hal. We usually use the one across the street from the airport with the free shuttle. They offer a discount for AAA/CAA. Maybe we can arrange something and you can leave the car here...

    No, to my knowledge you can't buy new. The plastic stems strip out on the bottom pretty easily. Keep in mind that it's 20 year old plastic. What colors do you need? I have a couple of spares... Somewhere. Not sure what it would cost to ship or how to go about sending but give me your mailing address and I'll try in a padded mailer. They just push in to install.

    Any 1st gen should work. I carefully reread your post and have to agree with Dave and George, most likely your cable broke and got bound up in the housing. The question is WHY did it break. These speedsometers have been known to seize up ocasionally.

    Yes you can just change the speedometer/odometer from the instrument cluster, and it's not too hard to do. Toyr best bet is to buy a cluster from ebayand learn how to take it apart first before disassembling your unit. I really don't think it is available from a dealer any more but I could be wrong. I'm sure if it is available it is an arm and a leg...

    Option 3!! Tell them that you want them to either repair or replace the bike to your satisfaction... Never EVER take the first offer that an insurance adjuster offers!! They are in business to make money, not give it away.
