1st gen (83-86) flasher circuitry
bongobobny replied to timgray's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Works fantastic, George, it's an old biker trick to get your rear light to be brighter. White reflects the full spectrum of light as opposed to silver or gray which is a variation of black which absorbs rather than reflects light unless they changed the rules of science... -
Heal quickly, my friend! We'll be praying for you.

Yup, but what do you expect from a 2nd gen anyway????

Survelance cameras caught B.S. involved with a hit and run accident involving Frosty the Snowman. Upon aprehension, Roudolph admitted that alcohol was involved, as apparent by his red nose. Biker Santa had no comment...

I'm afraid they could never reach our normal "highway speeds"...

Hmmm, works from my ebay but not from the link I just tried to repost. Item number 150317912515 Wonder what's up with that! It's a maroon '83 with 71K but no title. Bid is at $100, was $52 at time of original post...

We were in Spokane a few years ago on a bus trip and Alaskan cruise. That's a nice little town you have there. Of course there is those rather obscene group pictures of us and the statures... Welcome aboard. You will find us a very likeable bunch and as you get to know the site, discover that we are more than just members here, we are truly FAMILY! You will be hard pressed to find a more caring and giving group! There are quite the charactors here as well. A lot of pot stirrers, (especially the one who calls himself Squidley:stirthepot:) punsters, and assorted nuts! We have lots of local meets and eats, just keep your eye on the forums for that, as well as large regional gatherings.

Newbie question Parting 86 Venture where to post?
bongobobny replied to OldBull's topic in Watering Hole
Well, this is a good place to start! There is a classified section on this site for listing whole bikes and parts, both 1st gens and 2nd gens. What also seems to work out pretty good is to post it in the 1st gen technical forum. What color? I'm looking for gold plastic parts. Also, Atlantadragonslayer was looking for a speedometer cable the other day. Welcome aboard! -
Wow, Brad, I'm speachless!! Hope everything turns out OK and glad everyone survived!!

A lot of nice aftermarket stuff on this one, Gary. More in your area and so far pretty darn cheap!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150317912515&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem=:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

1st gen (83-86) flasher circuitry
bongobobny replied to timgray's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
George, try painting that plastic piece with gloss white, and then put your sunglases on.... -
Actually, what he wants to do is mount the trucker mirrors on his saddlebags backwards, so then when he looks in his front mirrors the 1st gens will appear to be behind him going backwards. BTW our paint isn't faded from the sun, it's faded from high speed abraision...

Yes, this is an EATING club with a riding disorder...

Of course the greatest gift is Jesus Christ but there is a shiny new 33 gallon air compressor in my garage as well! I also have a $50 gift certificate for Lowe's so something tells me I'm going to buy some air tools today... How's the belt buckle look, Tom??
