  5. Welcome aboard! You have many members in Ontario and I'm sure you will find them very helpful as well as friendly! Most of them don't bite... There is a Meet and Eat coming up in 2 weeks in Ft Erie at the Green Acres Restaurant on Saturday the 14th. Information is either on the calendar or in the Meet and Eat forum. Just let us know of your problems here and I'm sure you will get all the advice you need!
  6. Yah! That was my impression as well! Reiny, keep us posted and let us know how this could happen as now I'm worried the same thing could happen to any one of us. Mine is linked to my Ebay charge card as well...

  11. If you think thats bad, you know those little mini hitchpinpins for holding the pin on thebrake pad? $3.00!!! The plastic cover for the pads? $19!! Bought a bag of 4 hairpins the same size from Lowes for 78 cents. Lucked out on an ebay purchase of misc.NOS parts for around $10 that had the plastic cover as well as a bunch of misc parts...
  12. You probably scared her away with your new company vehicle...
  13. Welcome home and thank you, brother! You may try wasting a can of aerosol carb cleaners down the throats as well to get the sliders to free up a little. Sounds like the carbs have varnished up from setting. I am in agreement with the needle valves being stuck open causing the fuel leak. A few taps may unstick them but it almost sounds like you are in for a carb teardown and cleaning...
  14. Now THAT'S a flashlight!!
  15. Waaaaaaay cool!!!
  16. The only difference between the 680 and the 680MJ IS the metal cover, which is used as a heat shield for the battery and the reason why it is recommended for the Venture. It keeps engine heat at bay from the battery which could, over time, damage the battery...
  17. Uhhh, no, Tim, what I meant is do not stop SIDEWAYS on an incline like I did last summer at the Biltmore. Traffic stoped abruptly and the uphill grade did a 90 degree turn while going uphill. I unfortunately was sideways on the incline and had a long way to put my foot down to the ground. The bike leaned past the point of no return long before my toe touched pavement. We were both thrown off and the bike slid sideways down the hill...
  18. Never ever strop sideways on a hill, and never ever stop with the front tire higher than where your feet are!!! Don't ask how I know these... Make sure your air suspension is at the lowest setting possible without the suspension botoming out. You can also take the seat apart and remove some of the paddsing to get you a little closer to the ground. Boots with very thick soles also help...
  19. Just called Gary last night and had a wonderful conversation with him. This was the first time we ever spoke in person although we have been friends for quite some time. He will be there until tomorrow and loves the phone calls. If you have the time give him a call!
  20. Glad to hear things are OK, Lewis! We serve an awesome God!!
  21. Godspeed, brother, I'll be praying for you!!
  22. Been there, done that, Don, so I know what you are going through!! Becky and I both quit in the late '80s and both went cold turkey. I give all the credit to Jesus Christ because wqithout him I'm sure I couldn't have made it...

  24. Hmmmm, musta seen mine! Just wait til this summer, I'm seriously considering buying one of those rear view cameras to use as an electronic rear view mirror so I know just how far behind me the 2nd gen'ers are:stirthepot:
  25. Uhhhhh, errrrr, ahem, it's probably best that my wife does NOT know how much I spend on a regular basis on my scoots. Probably enough to make payments on a new one, but then I'd want accessories for it too...
