Welcome aboard! You have many members in Ontario and I'm sure you will find them very helpful as well as friendly! Most of them don't bite... There is a Meet and Eat coming up in 2 weeks in Ft Erie at the Green Acres Restaurant on Saturday the 14th. Information is either on the calendar or in the Meet and Eat forum. Just let us know of your problems here and I'm sure you will get all the advice you need!- 19 replies

Some Issues with the bike.

Welcome home and thank you, brother! You may try wasting a can of aerosol carb cleaners down the throats as well to get the sliders to free up a little. Sounds like the carbs have varnished up from setting. I am in agreement with the needle valves being stuck open causing the fuel leak. A few taps may unstick them but it almost sounds like you are in for a carb teardown and cleaning...- 6 replies

The only difference between the 680 and the 680MJ IS the metal cover, which is used as a heat shield for the battery and the reason why it is recommended for the Venture. It keeps engine heat at bay from the battery which could, over time, damage the battery... -
Uhhh, no, Tim, what I meant is do not stop SIDEWAYS on an incline like I did last summer at the Biltmore. Traffic stoped abruptly and the uphill grade did a 90 degree turn while going uphill. I unfortunately was sideways on the incline and had a long way to put my foot down to the ground. The bike leaned past the point of no return long before my toe touched pavement. We were both thrown off and the bike slid sideways down the hill...

Never ever strop sideways on a hill, and never ever stop with the front tire higher than where your feet are!!! Don't ask how I know these... Make sure your air suspension is at the lowest setting possible without the suspension botoming out. You can also take the seat apart and remove some of the paddsing to get you a little closer to the ground. Boots with very thick soles also help...

Just called Gary last night and had a wonderful conversation with him. This was the first time we ever spoke in person although we have been friends for quite some time. He will be there until tomorrow and loves the phone calls. If you have the time give him a call!

Uhhhhh, errrrr, ahem, it's probably best that my wife does NOT know how much I spend on a regular basis on my scoots. Probably enough to make payments on a new one, but then I'd want accessories for it too...
