  1. Uhhh, Squid, I'm looking out my window to a good 4 inches or so of snow as we speak and I do believe we are further south than you...
  2. I have 3, all aluminum. If you can wait a few weeks, I will have the one off of my '84 available. The triple tree assemblys are all the same for all years. I am replacing my lower only because I'm updating to newer style brakes and instaled new bearings and repainted my upper and lower gold and have the whole assembly ready to go complete. I will be removing my front end as a whole and putting in the rebuilt assembly. The '84 has only 15K miles on it and it will have the race for the bearing included.
  3. Uhhhh, cause they need a box to put the parts that fall off into???
  4. Oops, my bad, my mind read Clutch MASTER cylander, not slave... It's heck getting old!
  5. Check the free play of the rear brake pedal. There should be some, if not the master is not completely releasing causing the brakes to drag a little bit...
  6. I am planning on going with E III's this year on my scoot...
  7. Heck, I'll do it for 1/4 million...
  8. You're right, it usualy gets destroyed removing it. In the center it goes into a recess on the pushrod/piston and can be removed with a pick or jeweler's screwdriver.Once you get the rubber out of the groove then the bottom is just a force fit so just pull it out to access the circlip to remove the guts of the unit... If possible, it is a good idea to hone out the cylander before reassembling, and take the time to clean the unit with solvent and make sure the little passageway in the bottom of the resovior is clear.
  9. Rick at Buckeye Performance is a good one, member here and gives a nice discount to Ventureriders...
  10. Welcome aboard! Do a search on "Plastex" for information on how to repair the plastic. f you list what you need there is probably one of us who has what you need and will part with it for a reasonable price. Either that or click on the ebay clasified link to see a listing of all current Venture parts listed. Freebird gets a very smal commission for the site on ebay sales in return for the link...

    Why, yes I AM interested!!!
  12. Word of warning with Teknics jackets, their sizes run small. You may have to order the next larger size. Both Becky and myself had to with both of our "New" jackets...
  13. Thanks, Squeeze, and yes the seals are fresh, just rebuilt the assemblys. All the former dirt bike riders at work say synthetic as well as it holds up better. Just kinda pricy at over $20 a quart...
  14. So, I'm ready to instal my new progressive springs and I'm looking for opinions/facts about which type of fork oil should I use and why. Should I use regular fork oil, a synthetic blend, or a full synthetic? Advantages/disadvantages of each?
  15. PM sent...
  16. They are the same guard except the MK2 ones have a bracket welded to them...
  17. No, the amount of current the horn draws would fry the horn switch contacts in no time...
  18. I already gots a pair...
  19. Change plugs!!! Drain carbs and observe what comes out. Use seafoam. I kinda doubt that it is anything else to just go bad from setting. These engines are darn near bullet proof...
  20. Reiny, how far the pads are from the rotor is a function of runout. The worse the runout, the farther from the rotors the pads will be. If you are right against the rotors then your run out should be minimal, a very good thing. There are no springs or negative pressure to retract the pistons, just the rotor going round and round... PS I use a big ole screwdriver with some hair growing on it to spread my pads. Just even and slow force does it every time. Just make sure your master wasn't topped of before spreading the pads as you will force fluid out of the master!
  21. I guess the horn was being a "Bad Boy" Carl...
  22. Uhhh, the horn switch switches GROUND on and off. Where are ylou getting the =12 volts for the primary? Make sure you are aplying the switched ground lead from the stock horn, and that the horn switch isn't shorted.
