Body part?
bongobobny replied to s.tyler58's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
OK, picture 1, nope, nothing missing, that has to be open for the triple tree to turn! Pic 2 & 3, that is where the CLASS controller and the CB go on the Royale model... -
Oh, your SEALS leaked! My bad, I thought you meant they leaked at the hoses... Other than the usual dealers and boats.net etc, you could try member Skydoc_17 as a source. Earl is a great guy and does have some parts on hand. The reason for the EBC HH pads is they seem to work the best and last a long time...

Well, not sure about the singing part, so I will see if I can download an MP3 of "Oh, Canada" as the last thing we would wish to do would be to offend our fine neighbors to the north!! Either I will save the file to the computer, or see what I can do about transferring the contents of the existing SD card to another one that would have Oh Canada on it first. The only problem is that the computer tends to alphabetize the contents and THAT would REALLY screw it up!! Good thing that Starfan won't be here this year, nor will the Aussies...

Hmm, old terms. Well, maybe not quite the vein of an old term having new meaning, but how about "That's a real doozie" which referred to something being of the same caliber and quality of the Dusenburg automobile! The term "Far Out" meant something that you thought was really great and hence you had a feeling of closeness to or desire to be attached to! "Call Me" now can refer to texting more than actually speaking to someone...

I was being facetious... -
Are you replacing the seals while you have the pistons out? That would be a great idea, and you would not have to worry about getting the pistons in the exact same location anymore as they would seat themselves to the new seals. They should be replaced as with age, the seals take on what is referred to as a "set" and have a permanent distortion (the main reason why Camos recommends returning the pistons to where they came from). Make sure the seal grooves are clean and free of any scratches as the scratches will cause a leak!!! Yes, the R1/R6 calipers align right up with the MK2 rotors! You mentioned that your old calipers leaked with the new SS lines. May I ask, did you replace both crush-washers when you installed the lines? You should NEVER reuse the crush washers as once you crush a crush washer it takes on a set to the surfaces they mate to, and may not crush again properly to the new surface...

Well, Dave, I'm REALLY glad you brought that up!!! Yes, the "Country" part certainly refers to the Rural lifestyle as opposed to an Urban dweller! The "Patriotic" part refers to the sense of pride and commitment that comes with living in this great nation that we dwell in! So this year's theme refers to Country style living in our Country!!! So, the appropriate dress could be a Red hat, white tee, and blue jeans and cowboy boots, or bib style overalls and a red, white, and blue handkerchief, of your best rodeo duds carrying a flag, etc. Be creative and think "God Bless The USA" or for Canadians show your pride in your Great Country as well!! We do indeed respect Canada as a great free Nation as well, it is just that the event is being held on U.S. soil so we are catering to the United States so we will be playing the Star Spangled Banner but not "Oh, Canada" but if I would have thought of this before now I would have included it as well on the evening soundtrack. The soundtrack is already made up and I would have to remake the entire thing and the original took two days to compile... The bottom line is that by Country we intend it to be the Lifestyle and in this Country being patriotic tends to go hand in hand, and what this Nation of ours needs is to get back to loving it! Once again, thanks for asking David!!!

Cruise control not working
bongobobny replied to Duderoy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
There is probably slop in your handles from worn bushings that are causing the switches to just connect/disconnect causing the cruise to kick out when going over bumps... -

Puc, you ain't TOO crazy... -
Yup!! That's where!!

That's actually been at Hannigan for years I think, I do believe I have pictures of it from 2011 when I had my RSV done...
-
I use various thicknesses of wood and an air compressor to extend the pistons out uniformly until they start to pop, then carefully with a rag and pliers pull them out the rest of the way being VERY careful not to scratch the surface of the pistons, as even a small scratch can lead to a leak...

Try Pinwall?? -
Variable Positive Absolute Pressure. Unlike the BiPAP that you have to sync your breathing to the machine cycle, the VPAP senses when you are inhaling and exhaling and adjusts the pressure accordingly. Far superior to the BiPAP IMHO but unfortunately the VA only supplies BiPAP and I really don't have $1600 to spare for a new VPAP so I'm stuck with the BiPAP. Oh, well, it's free and is better than the CPAP...

IMHO you are not asking enough for the trike, that is a bargain price!!! I'm sure it will sell quickly! Black Cherry is one of my favorite colors!

Here, I did a google search and came up with a source for an official Yamaha owners manual... https://www.yamahapubs.com/results.php?cat-id=3&year=1989&family=VENTURE%20ROYALE&lang=en The service manual is available for free as a download on this site in the 1st gen technical library...

They sometimes show up on Ebay. Is there something specific you would like to know? We will gladly answer questions and offer advice!

NOPE!! The battery is 1 1/2 yr old AGM, most lights are now LED! The stator is a high output Rick's Motorsports one... This is the second time I have had problems at the non-stock connectors...
-
I FINALLY put the battery in the trike and got it started!!! I fixed the front turn signals so it will pass inspection, and found yet another issue with the connectors for my Stator! The connectors are melted again! I'm thinking that the AC voltage out of the stator is breaking down my aftermarket waterproof Butt connectors, so tomorrow I am replacing them with some other kind of connector and keeping the wires much further apart! AC voltage does a thing called "skin effect" which means the electricity travels down the edge of the wire rather than down the center like DC does, so I'm thinking the dielectric strength of those connectors leaves a little to be desired...

OK, time to talk about Friday, one of the really fun days!! During the daytime, there will be a ride to a place called Rock City! http://www.rockcitypark.com/home.html As you can see, there will be a $5.00 per person charge, but we will inquire about a group rate. This is a great place to explore, but be warned, you will be required to walk and possibly some minor climbing but it is not that strenuous exercise. Kickstands up around 10:00, the ride is about 1 hour, Motorcycle Tom is the Ride Captain. Now, there will NOT be a group ride back to the facilities, but getting back is as easy as it gets! Whenever you are ready to leave, simply make a left out of the parking lot onto NY Route 16 North and keep going straight to the Rally site!! The reason for this is not everybody will be ready to leave at the same time, so rather than waiting for everyone, we decided you can leave when you are ready and stop along the way for a lunch somewhere either by yourself or with someone else leaving the same time as you! There are several restaurants along the way back to the Rally site either on Route 16 or close by, especially in Olean, NY which is just a few minutes from Rock City. At 6:00 there is our Awards dinner with the Theme or "Patriotic Country" at Chanderson's Steak and Seafood! http://www.chandersons.com/ There will be a menu specific to our group, but you may order off the regular menu as well! The food is great, and the staff loves to see us every year! After the dinner, there will be a Card Raffle to determine who will win the big Grand Prize which this year is worth well over $200.00!! And, you never know, there may even be a second prize as well, keep tuned for details. There will also be a couple of miscellaneous items that will be auctioned off to the highest bidder! So, dress up in your best Country costume and expect to have a great time!! After dinner, we all return to the campsite for a bonfire and a time of fellowship! I would expect, as is always the custom, someone will offer Hot Sex around the campfire! There will be music (and dancing for those that are so inclined) from 8:00 until 11:00. We are not sure what we will do between the ride and dinner on Friday afternoon, but I'm sure we will find some fun activity to do!!!
-
Well, I for one can understand! I am realizing that my years left riding are limited, and Becky will not do long trips anymore. That being said, there is no reason for you to leave the site! I vaguely remember meeting you two I think many years ago, probably at an International Rally or something. Let me know how easy/hard it is to sell the Hannigan, it will be good information for me in the future. Hopefully, I will be riding for a few years yet, but who knows what tomorrow holds...
