  1. Yes, you did miss a good time! Tonight's movie has been changed, however! Instead of back to back Ghost rider movies, SlowrollWV brought along a really great DVD about the life of a very famous Indian rider. I have never seen it but it runs for over 2 hours and looks very interesting! In the meantime the search is on for Hot Sex around the campfire, there has been none at all so far this year...
  2. Chrome Glow makes a really cool LED replacement unit that comes in both a 3 prong and 2 prong version. the LED array is white for normal operation, but when you put the turn signals on it changes to amber and does a cool circular thing when first turned on. They are designed to fit exactly in the housing...
  3. I personally think it's Bigfoot...
  4. OK, bodily injury, 500,000/500,000 Property damage 100,000 PIP $250 ded Comp $250 ded Collision Underinsured/Uninsured Bodily injury 250,000/500,000 And I was wrong, I only paid $346.17 last fall...
  5. State Farm, around $500 per year with half a million liability... All our insurance is through them. To me what REALLY matters is how your claim is handled if and when you have one!
  6. Thanks to all of you here and on Facebook for the Birthday wishes! Your friendship means a lot to me!!! Yes, fun time yesterday, went to a smokehouse for some really great ribs for dinner, and then to an all-class high school reunion in my hometown.
  7. I am in the middle of a new project in our backyard, a fountain and pond on the side of the hill, and am in need of some decorative rocks!! I'm looking for roundish shaped rocks anywhere from the size of a baseball to a basketball with grapefruit-sized being ideal. So, what I thought would be really neat is if everybody brought just one rock from their area to the rally that would make for a really neat story about the project!! Here's the project as of this AM, about 1/2 completed...
  8. Mmmmmm, JONUTS!!! (Best Homer Simson voice...)
  9. Yes, Larry (Carbon_One) stopped making them a few years ago. He is just getting older and doesn't want to do them anymore...
  10. Just a side note for you, improper carb balance can and will cause the engine to run hotter...
  11. Yah, me too, ??? When I hit the link it comes up with a 6 fuse block...
  12. Yup, your power band doesn't even start until 3500 RPM...
  13. BTW Route 16 has been changed from a 4 lane highway to a 3 lane highway with a left turn lane and a green arrow in front of Ben's Nicklebrook Hotel! I guess too many people got rear-ended trying to make a left turn onto Route 39 towards Springville...
  14. Best way to find out is put a gallon of gas in your saddlebag or trunk and ride until you run out of gas... Around 40 miles is the average!
  15. Yup, most likely an issue with the hydraulics! If it were an internal clutch issue it would slip, not grab...
  16. Ya know that is just typical of the members of this site! Yes, Steve is a really great guy, but he is just another fine example of the quality of people here! I've known since 2005 just how generous, giving, accommodating and downright decent the spirit of the members here is, and I'm proud to be a part of that!!!
  17. If you get a chance, look at a Valkyrie, but good luck at that, once they are listed they are usually gone in a few hours if not a day unless it is a really bad deal...
  18. Steamer, I just happen to have a brand new stator in the box if you want to borrow it until yours comes in. Actually, you can have it and give me yours when it comes in. I might, or may not have the gasket you need too... I'm kind of busy otherwise I would indeed come over and fix it for you!
  19. It is all pretty much up to you as far as what to do. Myself, I left the petcock on reserve all the time to avoid the sputtering and dying before the warning light came on. Once the "countdown" starts I knew I had a good 40 miles left, and one time out in the middle of nowhere made it to almost 60 miles before running out of gas. I used to carry an extra quart of gas in my saddlebag back in those days and it was a good thing as I didn't see a single gas station during those 60 miles and finally found one another 5 miles down the road...
  20. Yes, that is how it works. The coil is hooked up to the high beam circuit so when the high beam is on current flows through the coil producing or making an electromagnet. This causes the two contacts of the reed switch to make contact and turn on the high beam dash light. You should be able to fix both sides of the board with wire and solder as I previously mentioned. On the solder side, just wrap the wire around where the coil and switch lead come through the board and use lots of solder. On the trace side just strip the green insulation on each side of the crack and bridge it with a piece of wire and you should be good to go. Of course, I have to ask, where are you going to come up with a new reed switch and coil assembly?? Your old one looked like toast... Of course, you could just replace the board and get on with life!
  21. Yes, the PC board can probably be rescued, but if you are not familiar with a soldering iron then get someone who is to help you out there. I am assuming from your previous text that you were going to jumper the existing magnetic reed switch anyways, so that makes the task a little easier. What you want to do is first remove the burnt up reed switch and electromagnet assembly, and then clean up as much of the board as possible. Then, using some sort of compatible epoxy or adhesive, reattach your broken piece to the main board. It looks like only one actual circuit trace was broken so that should be easy to jumper. What has to happen is the green protective coating on each side of the break has to be removed by scraping or sanding until the copper trace is clean and visible. Then, using a suitable piece of wire simply solder the jumper to each side of the break. Finish off the repair by coating it with nail polish or paint to insulate the repair. You should be good to go then...
  22. Sorry, Mike, I'm starting to get a little senile!!! I must have been thinking about Huckleberry Hound!!!
  23. Yup, what he said! It's mounted under the bracket that the coil pack is mounted on, which is under the battery box in front of the carbs. The boost sensor (vacuum advance) is mounted next to it. It helps to remove both upper fairings to get to it, and you might as well remove the lowers as well but it is not necessary, it just gets them out of the way and prevents any possibility of accidentally breaking them...
  24. Hmm, that's sort of a yes and no, Blue Sky! The 4 brush makes a big difference, but the heavier cables along with the 4 brush make it start even faster...
  25. There 'ya go, Charley, Heather will fix you right up!! I highly recommend her work!!!
