  1. My RSTC has jardines on it and they sound good. BUT, I am wanting to go to the 4 into 2 style. I have read that some guys have used Harley pipes to do this. Or, are there kit out there for this application. I want a deeper sound than the Jardines, that is why I am researching this. Thanks.
  2. Sounds like it may be the carbs. the bike sat up for neaarly two years before the guy got it from his aging dad. He only put about 200 miles on it in a 3 month period. I had to replace air filter (had rat nest in it!). Ran couple gallons of racing gas in it to help clean the carbs out somewhat. So, if syncing the carbs was like my old 650 Arctic cat, it will be hell w/o a tool. Thanks. Keep the info coming.
  3. I have just purchased one with 15k on it. It has the Jardine pipes. We just went to thunder beach and wow what a time. The bike on acceleration in all gears, until cruising, has a vibration on acceleration. I know it could be a hundred things, but is there a quick and dirty list I could check? I put new plugs in it. Thanks for the help.
  4. Thanks for the info. I messed up this weekend and looked at the MM Road Star. Mand that is a good looking bike. Now I am more confused than ever.
  5. Thanks. From what I have read, they are good bikes. I just wanted to get some reactions from ppl who know.
  6. Hello, I am a newbie here but have been watching for a month or so. I am looking at getting a 1996 RS w/ 22k miles on it. It came from Fl so there is a major cleaning in the works. I have heard nothing but good things about the motor (yamaha still makes it). But , what about the rest of the bike. Any coments will be appreciated. This may save me thousands in the future over a harley bagger. Thanks.
