  11. GOOD NEWS WHEN U CONSIDER HOW BAD IT COULD BEEN. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, TOM. LET THE DETAILS GO FOR NOW. REMEMBER TIME TAKES TIME. I HATE THAT SAYING...
  12. THE ANKLE IS HEALING SLOWLY. GETTING THE STITCHES OUT NEXT TUESDAY. ALREADY BACK AT WORK. DOC SAID I COULD RETURN TO LIGHT DUTY. THAT'S THE ONLY KIND I HAVE SO... THANKS FOR YOUR HELP, EVERYONE.

  14. fluid in my clutch is dark. DO I need to change it?
  15. NEIGHBOR'S 7 YEAR OLD KID WAS PLAYING IN MY MOTORCYCLE HOUSE AND PUT STUFF IN THE TRUNK OF MY 2006 RAV. HE MUSCLED THE LID SHUT AND NOW IT WON'T RAISE ALL THE WAY AND ONLY STAYS HALF WAY UP. I NOW LOCK THE BUILDING. HOW DO I GET THE THING BACK RIGHT?
  16. HAD THE BARON'S KIT INSTALLED BEFORE I RODE THE BIKE OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP. I HAD RIDDEN THREE VENTURES PRIOR TO BUYING MINE. I COULD GET MY FEET DOWN BUT WAS NOT COMFORTABLE, SO... ALSO LOWERED THE FRONT. I'LL LEAVE IT THAT WAY.
  17. THEY ARE READY TO GO. JUST BOLT THEM IN AND CRANK 'ER UP. PUT 'EM IN MY '06 AT 32,000 ELEVEN THOUSAND MILES AGO.
  18. I say thanks to all who take the time to post information about the Ventures. It's my 8th Yamaha but my first RSV. Put the Dunlop Elite 3 on the rear, moly 60 on the drive pins and new rear brake pads so I'm ready for the season. Would not have know to do all this but for the great folks on this site. Again, thanks, Jerry (AKA starrider60)
  19. great to be alive and coming out of the cocoon of winter. Loving it
  20. GOOD MOVE. I RETURNED TO COLLEGE AT 47. COMPLETED MY BA AT 49 & MASTER'S AT 51. MY OLD CAREER HAD DIED BUT I NOW HAD A WHOLE NEW LIFE. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE. SHE'LL NEVER REGRET IT.
  21. NO WHINE AND NO CHEESE. 31,000 MILES AND I LOVE THE WAY IT RUNS & SOUNDS. IF YOU WANT REAL MOTORCYCLE NOISE, RIDE AN AIR COOLED BIKE WITH STOCK MUFFLERS. SOUNDS LIKE YOU'RE GRINDING HAMBURGER.
  22. LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO PUT ON MY SADDLEBAGS TO KEEP THEM FROM GETTING SCRATCHED. BIKE IS 2006 RSV. SAW A SET BUT MY CRS KICKED IN AND I CANNOT RECALL WHERE. APPRECIATE SOME HELP.
  23. I wanted the moly lube so I went to the Honda dealer. Parts guy was real friendly. No moly in stock but he'd order it. Had to order 10 tubes to get one. I've since bought two and he has only three left. Said it was strange that he had never sold any until I had him order it. Whatta surprise!! The local Yamaha dealer is also great - friendly, always has the coffe pot on and willing to work with you on parts & service. Guess I'm just lucky.
  24. re-discovered camping the same year i returned to riding in 2002. Tent camped for 3 years but i agree that pulling on your jeans and boots is just too hard when your butt is on the ground so i have an aspen classic. It has a king-size bed and room for all my gear - stove, chairs, coffee pot, even a/c. Try to camp at least one time each month year round. Live in the south so it's do-able. Stay in motel every 3rd ot 4th night. Best way to see the country on a budget.
  25. Got my 06 RSV in May with 17,000 on the odometer. Now have 30,600. That's 13,000 in 6 months. Usually ride 15 to 17,000 annually. Put 70,000 on my '03 Road Star in 4 years. Love to ride.
