  1. So your saying the E3's over the Metzelers right?
  2. Thanks, I read through that last week. I forgot about it. It's kinda confusing, and most of it talks between Rotella T and Mobil 1. Seems they get compared allot on the forms here when I looked.
  3. Thanks, I forgot about the RSV having a wet clutch. The VTX was the same way. I also remember the oil you use can effect the shifting of the bike also
  4. I'm in needing of my first oil change since buying the RSV last week (9,700 miles ). The owner last changed it at 6,600 miles I'm bringing it to the mechanic tomorrow for both front brake pad to be replaced, as there starting to squeal a little. He mentioned $40.00 bucks to change the oil on the RSV. ( I us alley do oil changes and maintenance myself , but I thought I would ask how much ) I asked which oil is and filter would he be using for the $39.95 oil change He replied he would use regular automotive oil, ( Castrol ) to be exact, and been using in bikes for the past 25 years, and his friend who has 135,000 miles on his Vulcan, has been doing it this way since day one owning the bike,. In my Honda VTX, I used to run Amsoil oil at $9.95 a QT, and changed it every 4,000 miles instead. http://www.amsoil.com/a/synthetic-motorcycle-oil Has anyone heard of using regular engine oil in the RSV ? If everyone's doing this here, it would be allot cheaper ( Approx $15.00 in materials ) vs $50.00 right now in oil changes. When you ride approx 20,000 miles a year such as I do, it can add up quicker Thanks for your help
  5. I found a MV85HB on their site, they said its the same as the 150-90-15 for $137.99 Where on this site is the code for the 10% off, can somone PM me the link to it? I can't seem to find it
  6. I found the front E3, for $111.99 , but can't find the rear tire
  7. I agree Bob, thanks for your input, It's greatly appreciated as always I'm online looking now to see what the price differences are
  8. Thanks, I just bought the bike last week, and rode 900 miles since then, 500 of which was with the wife, and havn't noticed any low speed issues. Thank you for the heads up
  9. Custoum cruizing is having 30-40% off, which is what made me start looking, maybe nows the time to order some. How do you get the 10% off with motocycle superstore. I order from them allot to
  10. I just spent over a hour reading post back to 2005 on tires. My stock tires have 9,700 miles on them, and maybe have another 2K to go. I received a few emails for on-line stores, with 30% off tires, so I started looking into possibly ordering some now then later. I read how popular the Avon Venom's are for the RSV, and also the Dunlap E3's also seem to be well liked. In the past on my GW and other bikes, I always ran Metzler ME880's, but I seen some neg responses for that tire on the RSV. I also read some people are happy with the Commanders as well, but never heard of them. I was hoping to get 15K out of a set of tires, as well as a good highway , low speed handling tire. I do allot of riding 2-UP, so safety and handling are my to concerns My sizes are : Front : 150-80-16 Rear : 150-90-15 Are those the size's I should be ordering for either Avon's or E3's ? Or would you recommend another tire ? Any help is appreciated
  11. Ok thanks, my email is : mdelano@cfl.rr.com I'll keep in touch, as I'm riding over with some people, plus meeting people there also, I'll let you know as we get closer
  12. Dave, Usually when you mix LED's and regular bulbs, you have to change either the flasher, such as these, to trick the flash rate, which is what I installed on my VTX, when I mixed matched and the flasher worked great, everything flashed together. I'm not sure if they make them for the Ventures , you'll have to call them , or check their site: http://www.customdynamics.com/trick_flasher.htm
  13. That would be great as we, or I am planning to goto Leesburgh for sure , just not sure about the wife yet, she works every other weekend at a Hospital Thanks, looking forward to meeting you, and also your more then welcome to join us over to Cedar Key, I'll let you know the dates

  15. Thanks for asking Steve , as we just came back from a nice 500 mile round trip this weekend. We left Friday eve for FL/GA boarder, which was about a 3+ hour trip up 95, arrived around 11pm in Jacksonville with the wife. Saturday we spent all day on the bike, and took the bike across the St Johns River on a Ferry, over the Ferdina Beach, and Amelia Island. We went shopping, saw a remote control boat show, took pics with the Easter Bunny, went to a Fort, and then on Sunday we went to St Augustine for the day, and just got home at 5:00pm, total round trip was about 500 miles. Sunday after stopping in St Augustine, we stopped for lunch at one of my fav places right along A1A, as you can see from the pic below, its ocean front ! Man, we had so many compliments on the bike this weekend, several people came over and stared and ask questions. Had allot of compliments on the color combo, we just love the bike. I really don;t have any complaints, other then the gear box being just a tad noisy, but that's really it. As far as comfort, we rode the bike all day, and loved the seats and backrest. The bike is really comfortable, and handles great on the highway. Our other bikes we had to spend over a $1,000.00 just for comfortable seats, but the RSV comes with the most comfortable seats, we love em. I really love the air ride suspension, cruise control, which I used all weekend, and the feel of the bike. Only once I was on a incline towards the kick stand side and went to lift the bike, and had to put it back on the side for a min, telling my wife to lean over to the right, then I picked it right up. The bike handles great, very smooth running engine, rides beautiful down the road, and were extremely happy with the bike, and we REALLY love the color, man it really shines nice when the sun hits it. I do wish it had reverse like the GW, as it is over 1,200lbs with both of us on the bike, and one time I was pushing back with both of us on it, and my foot slide on a leaf, and the bike all most want over, heart raced a little there . But you get used to parking in spots so you don't need reverse. Other then one time I could have used it, no biggie. All together since we picked it up last Monday night, we put 900 miles on it all ready Now the bike has 9,670 miles on it, from 8,800 Next month I think I'll change the tires to the Venom's , as this month I just had to buy tires for my SUV. We a great ride though, we rode the whole east coast of Florida down from GA to Melbourne, and loved the bike , thanks for asking We'll hook up with a ride here soon, as we had dinner the other night in Vero, which is about 60 miles south of us. In a few weeks, we are planning on a ride over to Cedar Key also One thing was I couldn't get the side bags opened Saturday night, and we had all our clothes in the room, and a ton of stuff to pack. After a hour we gave up trying to open them, went to dinner, came back and still couldn't open the side bags. The whole trip they kept opening, and now there stuck closed, and there empty, and were 5 hours from home! SO my wife says, why don't you read the manual. I responded , " You don't think I know how to open saddle bags " ? Ok, OK, I read the manual just to check if I wasn't missing something..............and Walaaaa! The manual says to open them, turn the lock counter clockwise, and to close clockwise. Ever since I bought the bike, I was doing it back wards ( Explains why they kept opening on me all week ) So I turn the key counter clock wise, pushed the lock, and there they go, popped open!! Ran over and hugged my wife, and said thank you ! Cause I was on my way to Staples on Saturday night to ship all our stuff home ! So after we had that small mishap resolved, everything was " OK " and we had a great time , lol
  16. hey Spear, your right on man, IR filter : http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/HRD002IR_pptoned.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/IMGP0422_levels_1024w_desaturate_au.jpg
  17. I heard about the J&P, I'm going to check into those as well today
  18. I'm seam to having trouble finding out how well the Nolan N-COMM communications work on the Ventures. The wife and myself, both have Nolan N-42E 3/4 helmets, and were looking into wired communications. The Nolan helmets have a special adapter I heard can run not only the Nolan communications through them, but you can buy J&P headsets also using an adapter. Can anyone share their experiences with either of these units? We would like to get some communications for our helmets, and didn't want a clamp on style headset like the ones we have now from our Gold-wings Thanks for your help
  19. Nice job, it came out beautiful !
  20. Thanks for your help
  21. Thats great to know about the 880's, sounds like their not the best tire for choice for the Venture I'm glad I asked, because I'll need new tires here soon also What does a set of Venoms run for front/rear
  22. Thats weird, because we been running Metzler Me880's om all our bike in the past, which were GW, and VTX's. They were a very smooth running tire, and usalley last around 18,000 miles. I been running them for years, and swear by them I do see the Vonems come up here alot. I would like to compare these two Sorry, didnt mean to high jack the thread
  23. How about the Metzler ME880's for these bikes?
  24. Prayers to a speedy recovery
  25. I sure was on VTXOA, here;s a thread i started when I mounted my XR fairing : http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216494 I'm FL-VTX-Rider over there Thanks for the tip on the exhaust, I think that will be a mod for sure here withen the next few months
