Funny Whirrrin' Noise?
gscbertrand replied to Schlepporello's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Have any of you heard of Jig-a-loo spray on dry lubricants? This job would be easier with this stuff if it does what it says it does. -
I just sent you the money for 2. I would like 1 black and the other in silver please. And add my thanks for doing this for all concerned.

On an XJ 1100 Maxim I had to grind off the locking tabs to adjust the bars for a person with short everything, arms included. She can now go from lock to lock without letting go of the handle bars. It's easy to do the job.

They also make aftermarket solinoids for motorcycles. I just bought 1 for a XS400 yamaha twin for $69.98 CDN it comes with the correct plug ends and a new rubber holdr.

I just learned of a product called Jig-a-loo that people on a different motorcycle forum are giving very good results to. The products are available at lots of different stores like Zellars and Home Hardware... if your interested try going www.jigaloo.com and check things out.

Stripped Oil Filter Bolt
gscbertrand replied to ixd704's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You should have no problem cutting a slot and using an impact lots of the older oil filter bolts have come off that way. Some of the factory bolts had a 10mm bolt head and lots of people don't have metric tools so the next fit will do. NOT! -
I would like 1 also better make that 2. I have a spare sheild for my 84.

Fuel problems
gscbertrand replied to ixd704's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You could try some Rad shops to see who will line it for you I've tried home shop liners and can never quite get the same results that my rad shop does. They also check for leacks and weld them if any are found. P.S. put some sea foam into your gas tank when you fill up next time try looking for it in car part retailers. Out here we have a company called Piston Ring where I buy mine.- 11 replies

Body parts
gscbertrand replied to Greg Kendall's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You could try going to a body shop supplier and get them to mix the colour you need. Some of our local places can put the colour in a spray can. -
And I thought you had a new love in your life not that you are getting some better things in life then what I'm getting. Everything except your posts are fine.

Cruise Not Holding Speed?
gscbertrand replied to Spyderguy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Check to make sure the clutch switch at the handle bar is located in the holding hole sometime they get loose and your cruise will not engage. I have fixed that little problem before with crazy glue. -
Anybody recognize this?
gscbertrand replied to Dragonslayer's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
