Front Brake strength
gscbertrand replied to cabreco's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I got all 8 hoses in SS for $150.00 at my door from apexbrakes.com. All new banjo bolts and washers and a colored cover of my choice. -
It could be repaired, the difference between a right off and a repair is money. The worth of the vehicle is what matters.

I'm sorry to hear your time to put the bike away has come. I can see the future a bit and don't like whats coming way to soon for me. Please stay and add your thoughts to this site as we do need some one to keep us in line.

Here in Manitoba we have a government run auto insurance monopoly. My yearly rate is $1487.00 which I put on my visa so I can make 12 payments. From the 1st of October to May 3rd I pay alittle over $9.00 per month, then on May the 4th It jumps to $287.00 per month for 5 months. So please dont be upset when you pay less for a year than I do for 1 month's privileged access to some of the most boring and rough surfaced roads in Canada.

I paid $20.00 a year for three years on the other Venture site. $60.00 total. I got very little or no knowledge passed on, no offers to help in any way, no links and help searching for parts and definitely no warm fuzzy feeling on that site. Ask any question then wait a few sconds for the answers to come rolling in. This site is addicting and will use up time I should be doing other things with but it's the best place to visit every day. I hope you catch on and stay for awhile as you will feel part of the family in time.

Clutch master Sight glass repair.
gscbertrand replied to timgray's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Get yourself a couple of re-build kits and clean the masters and the calipers. Bye the way where did you get the compatible DOT3 synthetic? I have a new set of SS brake and clutch hoses and re-build kits for all the brake parts so for me this the time to switch to the synthetics. -
I'll join the crow:fingers-crossed-emod next Jan. Until then I will enjoy not being a senior for a little while longer.

What shape is your fuse holder in? When you say "like no battery" have you tried the horn or brake lights? -

No back brakes
gscbertrand replied to chrislemon's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I don't think I would change to synthetic brake fluid until I'm ready to change my brake hoses and rebuild kits for the master cylinders and calipers. In the mean time I did switch to DOT4 which is a little better than DOT3. I just received my SS brake lines from a company in Quebec, all 8 hoses in red covers for $170.00 delivered to my home. Now for the kits. -
Please put me down for 1 5 3/4 and 1 9 inch. I will wait for the pricing and send you the payment via pay-pal. Thanks for this. All in the iron on type.

Happy birthday Annie maybe one time you could visit up here and have a few wobbly pops and tell a few lies and share stories. I hope you have many more trouble free miles.

I would like a set also. Let me know shipping to Canada and I'll add that to the payment. Thanks for doing this as I have been waiting for awhile now to get a set. -
The difference between the 2 types is the taste.

Where do I start-----Starter problems
gscbertrand replied to Eagle77's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Did you check the solenoid? If you can get to the 2 connections jump them together with an old screw driver with the ignition key in the run position. If the bike starts I would get a new solenoid. Good luck with with the hunt for a cure. -
88 venture carb sync question
gscbertrand replied to masterofyard's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You might want to change the spark plug caps and wires then start using some sea foam.about 1/2 can. Run the bike as long as you can then let it sit for 24 hours. It can't hurt. -
Thanks Dingy that link was perfect.
