I think it is pretty cool, I go out of my way to give the little devels a hand with their nests. They are nice to see around and are only around the shop for a little while.
-
good idea to include the serial number in the bill of sale, so it is clear what he is buying and the buyer can't pull out a simialr parts bike and claim you screwed him over..... Cash changes hands, and the TOD and bill of sale are completed. As for insurance it his bike now, not your problem how he gets it home Just my 2 cents

Should just pull off, The boot is pretty long, but if it has been a while since they have been off they my be pretty tight. The plug is pretty far down that hole -
There is a class repair section in the Tech pages also. My probe light has been flashing also since I got a new battery. I haven't fixed it yet as I am having issues finding resistors. For some reason they don't carry them at out Source Stores here in Canada:confused24:

Check the VR Tech section on the left side of the page, should be a list of 1st gen repairs there.

I think I would support the area and then dig out all the old rotten wood and dirt. Make a new beam out of preasure treated 2 X 6 and then put that in the hole . Bolt the new beam to the old one well abouve ground level. Back fill the hole with crushed lime stone. The lime stone will drain the water away from the new beam keeping the beam dry. Whole lot easier than concrete

I pull my 8 X 8 trailer around the yard with a lawn tractor, and some times that is to much, Width is a huge thing with a lawn tractor. weight also becomes an issue pretty quick. No to mention the stopping distance. Some times the tail is wagging the dog so to speak. Just my opinion but I don't think it would be for me even with brakes.

Couple of years ago my dad was grumbling to my mom that there was no gravey for the potatoes ( He loves gravey on his potatoes). Any way mom starts at him about colestorol and how it isn't good for him. I told her " The man is 85 years old if he wants gravey make him gravey" Like someone said what is it doing to do kill him. That was a couple of years ago and dad has gone down hill guite a bit but he is eating his gravey

I threw an add out ther offering my 1st Gen for sale. $3000.00 I get an email from some guy who wants more pic's and says he had his ourn private shipper who will pick the bike up and and look after the TOD. Then I get a couple of text messages from hime 646-481-5977 looking for more details and offering more money that I am aasking. (first red flag) Tried calling him but it was just a messaging forward thing. Then he issisted on paying with pay pal and provides a link to pay pal. He also provides a phone number for his private shipper. I check the phone number for the shipper and it is a cell # out of southrn Alberta, but all I get is an answering machine ( flag 2) I do a reverse number look up on the buyer and get nothing but his area code is in New York (flag 3) Few emails later he is still insisting on pay pal and I should use the link he provided. Told him I didn't trust the pay pal thing because there were pit falls. Still he insistes on using it (Flag 3) Did some more checking through some work contatacts. Long story short this guy in my mind has a link running parralel to a legitamate pay pal site. When you go to his link you are giving him your banking or credit card info. Before your know it he has cleaned you out or maxed your card. Last email to his was either Western Union or his private shipper could have cash in hand when he showed up to ge the bike. Haven't heard from him since. Looks like this guy is trying to scam bike sales. It is to easy to just click the link he provided and he has you as soon as you put in your info. Lets be care ful guys if it looks to good to be true is usually is

50mph Crosswinds. How do you ride? fast? slow? not at all
Pam replied to deepforkriver's topic in Watering Hole
I try to keep the speed up and look further down the road than normal. That seems to allow me to let the bike lean and come back on its own as the gust increases or decreases. I also check the weather for wind before heading out. -
I was going to put my retirement papers in the first of this month, but I need some screws out in myback to keep the bones from rubbing. Once that is done and I am all healed up I will be burning the holiday time and putting in my papers. Retirement will eliminate a 100 mile round trip comute four days a weel. That alone will same around $100.00 per week. The way the wife has it fiqured when you get rid of the cost to go to work take home pay shoud be pretty much the same. Can't wait for the day to come.

I have lived in the country for the last 20 years as well and am dreading the day I have to move to town. Will need a double lot for all the toys etc...Ever figure how much time you save by not having to go inside to check the flow:whistling: Wife gave me the gears a few falls ago when there was snow on the ground. Blamed be for some big yellow patch about 2 feet accross. When the smoke cleared and I pointed out the set of deer tracks leading up to and away from the patch she cooled off

For what it is worth I am with KIC on this. Nothing can keep up with the 1st Gen:confused24: -
Fair bit of truth in that little paragraph

- 41 here right now God I love that distinct crunch of the snow and that fog that rolls in when you open a door. Just do what the other guys have said and he will be OK and keep the fuel level up and that extra blanket in the truck
-
Try a little D 40 in the plug hole, and see what happens. It may be also that the carb diaphrams are all dried out, I have a saw right now that needs a carb kit. Or even a poor fuel line. 80 is a bit low for compression also but you should get some fire out of it.

Woke up to -27 c or -17 f this morning, car wasn't plugged in but she cranked and went., supose to snow a bit tonight.... But we have no snow to speak of either just enough for the grass to poke through... I am not a big fan of winter

Pam replied to Brianb's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Had the same thing hapening on my 83 a few years ago, I would to carry a 1 amp charger with a couple of wires coming from under the false tank, Rode to work and plugged her in to charge the battery and rode her home like this until the new battery came in, With her running and the battery charged just stick a multi meter on the battery posts and see what you get. This will tell you if it is the battery or in the charging system. There will me more info coming cause there is lots of knowledge on this site. -
Changed a tire for a Dr. one time and from then on I never had trouble getting in for a medical apointment, or wait very long to get in to see the Dr. My policy is treat medical people very well because you never know ewhen your goning to be needing their services.
