    Sturgis 2011

I plan on passing thru Sturgis on about the 5th, after leaving the VR rally in Cody.
  2. double dip cone please. one of each flavor....
  3. I have 2 of the Walmart Ozark Trail tents. A large 4/6 man and a smaller 2 man. The 2 man was about $40 and the 4 man was about $60 (watch for sales). They are warm weather tents lightly constructed and with large screen tops covered with rain flys. They have worked ok in moderate rains and light winds. Very easy to put up or take down, even for 1 person. I used the 2man on a couple trips with my RSTD with it tied to the back seat. I've also purchased an Ozark Trails air mattress, these are much thicker and more comfortable than the old style air mattresses, but you'll need to get an electric pump to blow it up unless you're a tuba player. I have a pump that runs off 4 D cell batteries, or you can get one that plugs into your bikes accessory socket. If you're planning on cold weather camping, I'd get a more heavy duty tent.
  4. now I know why the Canadians look so happy when May gets here.

  8. a prayer sent.
  9. using sintered pads up front and standard brake pads in the rear may help those who want more grab in the front. I haven't tried this, but it seems like an idea to try in that situation.
  10. more prayers being sent your way.
  11. Its a long wheelbase. You're not going to change that. The tires do make a difference. When I went from the stock Bridgestones to Avon Venoms with a narrower front tire, the handling improved noticeably on my RSTD. My RSTD is easier to handle than my Venture, so taking off a little top weight, and the narrow front tire seem to help in that regard. But neither of these bikes are going to be as nimble as my 500lb Triumph.
  12. It appears one must buy Yes coveridge at the time you purchase a vehicle from a Yamaha Dealer (only). FOR USED VEHICLES The term of the Y.E.S. Contract for your used Yamaha vehicle is the number of months of Y.E.S. Contract coverage purchased at the time of used vehicle sale, and is shown in the Declarations. The used vehicle is eligible only if the Yamaha Dealer sells (sold) you the used vehicle and the Y.E.S. Contract on the same day. Yamaha will not provide coverage for used vehicles which are not sold by the Yamaha Dealer.
  13. I guess we'll find out what it covers and what it costs for our bikes soon.

  22. a friend in Japan said that they lost utilities there for a day, and there's some minor structural damage. But that the parents of a sister-in-law live in a small fishing village on the NE coast near the epicenter, and that the whole village is gone, and no word of the relatives. prayers go out for these people J update just got a report from the friend there who said there have been continuos aftershocks, and there was just a rather violent one. So its not over yet.
