  4. yes another bad one. It looks like the current toll is 14 dead in Georgia I spent an hour last night down in the basement, but the worst of the storm went by just a few miles to the north. It looks like the entire SE coast is getting hammered right now, with VA Beach in its bullseye.
  5. they show up on ebay as well. And the chrome for any year venture 1999-2011 or 2005-2009 RSTD are the same.
  6. Actually having a fired empty cartridge in your vehicle may result in problems with canadian customs.
  7. The Yamaha loose head bolt recall is not listed in this database for either 2007 or 2008. Since we know that there is a recall, it would appear Yamaha never reported it to the Gov't. Maybe only safety related recalls have to be reported.????
  8. While I haven't done this on one of my Yamahas, I did run a 650cc Triumph Trophy on a Suzuki coil when one of the Lucas coils went out on the road. It ran just fine for several years thereafter that way.
  9. sorry you're having these problems. The bikes are solid and dependable most of the time. you don't say which model and year of bike you've bought.
  10. welcome. looks like it was a good day for a ride.
  11. Lewis, The problem with going to an orthopedist is what he knows is to cut flesh and bone. a prayer sent for a recovery. Let us know how this might affect Vogel and how we can help there?
  12. Happy Anniversary !!!!
  13. Thanks for sharing these memories Ray.
  14. When I see a tire with more wear in the center than the edges, I'm tempted to drop the air pressure a few pounds, or vice-versa. Does anyone else do this?
  15. Alright. we have our first member with a 2011. I'm not aware of anyone doing a Vmax'd 2nd gen, although there have been a few 1st gens. Apparently there is a big bore kit, although, again, I'm not aware of anyone here running with one. I'm sure you'll have a few people who have talked about doing that, or have done perf mods chip in.
  16. welcome. these are great bikes. We're having our International Venture Rider rally in Cody Wyoming at the end of July, so join us if you can.
  17. looking forward to the pics Spear. It sounds like another good trip. getting to be the season for longish trips here in the States.
  18. Saudi Arabia just lowered production. AFter all, how much oil can their camels drink ?
  19. its just that when you've seen it all some things ain't worth remembering....
  20. I suspect as an aero engineer, you already know the answer..
  21. Ken Veit is a locksmith.
  22. We had the VR International rally at the Hub 2 years ago. I cut my teeth riding motorcycles in south central Missouri, going to college at Rolla and my Grandparents and parents retired to Mtn. Home AR. Beautiful country. Winters can be brisk compared to Georgia, so I think I'll stay put here.
  23. this won't be any fun for taking a date to the drive-in.
  24. I really miss the switch adjustable windshield that my BMW K1100 had. It was very nice. Could run it all the way down to get some wind on my face, or all the way up for maximum rain protection. Or half-way if there was fog and I needed to look over the top of it.
  25. I take the windshield off my RSTD for warm weather day trips. I didn't own a motorcycle with windshield until 10 years ago. But now protection from constant wind and occassional rain makes the long trips more enjoyable. I'm soft, I know. I like the shield up on my full face helmet, but if my eyes water, then can flip it down.
