  1. If the offer is open for Saturday night, I'll take you up on it. I'm planning on doing 850 miles to KC the first day, then scottsbluff at 600 miles on saturday would leave an easy 400 mile run on sunday. I wasn't the one who contacted you previously. many thanks.
  2. See Bill, your memory is getting bad. I can still remember when any 1300cc engine was a big torquey motor.. The Victory CC looks like a fine ride. Guess I'll have to go for a demo ride one of these days. there's a Victory dealer about 25 miles away.
  3. I took a factory test ride on the new Triumph Thunderbird. I prefer the RSTD which is roughly comparable in size and accessories and power. And a lower price. You can get a low mileage RSTD for a very good price right now, or a new old stock.
  4. Thanks, but jeff has one Jeff has a cam sent by Dingy, and is also getting a complete engine from rjg1985
  5. Good find. Thats why I try not to look at Craig's List. Hmm. I wonder what else is there today...

  8. good news. keep sweepn
  9. glad you can talk about it. heal fast.
  10. when you get the new EBC's compare the pad thickness to how much you said you saw still on the origonal pads. I think you'll find that you still have 50% left. If so, I'd just rotate the inner and outer pad and keep the new ones for a while. Check the pads every oil change and you should be able to keep from going down to the metal. Check brake fluid level and coloration. If its dark, its time to flush the brake fluid. There's nothing to lube. Although some people put anti-squeak lube on the back of the pads.
  11. Welcome to this group Jim. Some of the Texans will jump in soon with a howdy. The RSV is a fine machine.
  12. be sure to get a picture of you and Al wearing a cheese head.....

  14. When you're done with it, if it winds up being parted out or scrapped, please consider sending me the shims from it for my shim kit.
  15. what a deal !!!
  16. If you spread a tarp out under one of them, you should be able to get a good supply of gooseburger in the fall and spring.

  20. I think we should have an award for the most Dairy Queen stops one can make in a 1,000 mile run. hmm. maybe I should re-word that. ... the most Dairy Queen stops one can make in 24 hours. That way you're not having to hurry to finish your milkshake or Dilly.
  21. 1. or even part of one with the hex on it.
  22. does anyone have 1 cam shaft from a 1st gen, 2nd gen, or vmax that they're willing to donate to the cause of building a shim tool by flyinfool ? will pay for shipping. the cams can be bad, really need to play with the hex area between the cams where the shim tool rides. TIA
  23. I'm planning on doing my RSV this Fall. I'll turn 26,000 miles on the trip to Cody.
  24. A 5 year warranty for the Royal Star vs 1 (Victory), 2 (Harley) or 3 (Kawa). Not mentioned at all in the article. Also dinged for only a 5 speed tranny, when a 6 would just be a nuisance when we have such a wide power band compared to the other bikes. But, a fairly good article. Also not sure where they got their HP figures from? They may have used the lower HP from the early Royal Stars, and and not the Gen2 Venture/RSTD. handling in the curves got dinged, likely the test bike had factory Bridgestone tires on it.
