  8. does anyone have 1 cam shaft from a 1st gen, 2nd gen, or vmax that they're willing to donate to the cause of building a shim tool by flyinfool ? will pay for shipping. the cams can be bad, really need to play with the hex area between the cams where the shim tool rides. TIA

  10. A 5 year warranty for the Royal Star vs 1 (Victory), 2 (Harley) or 3 (Kawa). Not mentioned at all in the article. Also dinged for only a 5 speed tranny, when a 6 would just be a nuisance when we have such a wide power band compared to the other bikes. But, a fairly good article. Also not sure where they got their HP figures from? They may have used the lower HP from the early Royal Stars, and and not the Gen2 Venture/RSTD. handling in the curves got dinged, likely the test bike had factory Bridgestone tires on it.

  15. On a few of the engines I have helped with, or gotten feedback on because my kit was used, some of the valves were on the loose side of the spec, even after 50,000 miles of no adjustment. That makes me wonder if the factory set them correctly in spec. On Sleeperhawk's bike this past weekend, some were out of spec tight, and some loose. Go figure?
  16. Well, we've had heavy rain since yesterday afternoon here, and its supposed to continue all day. A storm front has stopped right over the top of us. Did you get here?
  17. Bob, I have a kit with shims and a tool that can be borrowed. I ask that any shims used be replaced and if you break the tool, replace it. MiCarl sells both. PM me. Randy
  18. The valve adjustment is the same on 1st and 2nd gens (and Vmax). The hw you have to move out of the way may vary.
