I bought a laptop to carry on the motorcycle a little over a year ago. Since then its become my main computer. So I just brought home from Walmart a new 10inch netbook. Its exactly half the size and thickness of the laptop. And I won't feel any 2nd thoughts about packing it on my bike for the trip to Cody. It is an Acer D257 with the latest Intel N570 dual chip. Its fairly peppy. Has a 250gb hard drive and a couple USB ports. So far the 1GB memory seems adequate. I'm using my home wifi network with it now. Walmart had the best price I was able to find. The 10inch screen seems fine for email and forums like this.

Going to be having a new rear tire put on today, and pulling the shaft to lube it. I wonder if I can get it back together (right) the first time... (reminder to self to check all the brake pads before the 4000 mile rt to Cody).

Steering head adjustment
RandyR replied to Condor's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Look for a tech tip by v7goose on doing it by tapping both the tightening nuts with a large screwdriver. Takes about 20 minutes or so maybe more the 1st time. Its relatively easy. Ya should'a been at Don's MD. Goose ran a clinic on how to do it. -
Rear Brakes No Pedal
RandyR replied to knifeeven's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
dealer is unlikely to cover this under warranty unless he did the origonal adjustment/bleeding, etc. I'm not sure what to to think. Maybe a piece of crud in the brake lines or pistons. My (new to me) 2000 brake lines looked like they had never been purged and were full of crud, required several purges to clean them out. Could still be air in the line. Being able to push the peddle down with no brakes makes me think thats at least part of the problem. -
Hello...Newbie here...Questions about possible purchase.
RandyR replied to paai1993's topic in Watering Hole
If you want a bike for next spring, you will likely find a better price in the middle of winter than you will waiting until everyone is wanting to go riding. check the classified here, craigslist, ebay, and cycletrader. You may also want to join (by car or 750Kawa) one of our Meet & Eat's in your area and get a first hand look at some of the bikes people are riding. You're welcome even if you don't have a venture/RSTD. probably half this group's members ride something else. -

You might want to consider joining Friends of GA State Parks. That way you get a pass to all the parks, and also get a free night of camping. http://friendsofgastateparks.org/index.html There are 100+ state parks in Georgia. It has one of the best park systems in this country. Come visit the Dahlonega Gold Museum while you're here. I'll give you a guided tour. Site of the first US gold rush. US Mint 1838-1861 minting only US gold coins.

It would be nice to see a new (good) dealer make it. Hopefully he has a good service department with reasonable prices.
