  1. Splat!!
  2. Good for another 12-15,000 miles. The Carbon1 adapter works very well for me. get the optional legs.
  3. Lots of dirt roads thru the National Forests here in north Georgia to ride something like that. Its tempting, I'll admit.
  4. I think I'd be getting a Thompson-Center Contender pistol in 7mm/08 with nice long eye relief scope on it.
  5. There was a VentureRider M&E in Macon, GA today at TuffTom's new place. http://randyrick.us/motorcycles/TuffTom/TuffTomVisit.JPG Tom, George, Tricia, Brian, RandyR Souvenirs of TuffToms visit to Dublin, GA http://randyrick.us/motorcycles/TuffTom/TuffTomShirt.JPG http://randyrick.us/motorcycles/TuffTom/TuffTomHelmit.JPG Got a copy of the police report, visited Tom's bike at the impound lot and got his important personal stuff, and filed an insurance claim with the company of the person who hit him.
  6. Cowboy and I will drive to Dublin, GA in the morning, get the police report and Tom's stuff, and take pictures of the bike. Then we'll visit Tom in Macon after lunch. If Tom has full comp insurance, then his insurance company may handle things for him. If he has liability only, then probably not. We'll get that sorted out tomarrow and make sure that an insurance company gets involved.
  7. Thanks Tricia let the insurance company take care of this. Someone needs to get the insurance company of the woman who hit Tom to take care of the impound fees, and moving the bike to a shop for repair, if its deemed fixable. I will try to get with Tom on this tomorrow when I'm there. Don't move it until the insurance company adjuster sees it and takes pictures of it. Or they make the arrangements to have it moved themselves.
  8. I'll plan on visiting Tom on Thursday afternoon.
  9. I think this is TuffTom on the Dragon friday
  10. http://randyrick.us/motorcycles/Lewis_resized.jpg Large high-res version here: http://randyrick.us/motorcycles/Lewis_Large.jpg And here I am following Lewis up the Dragon. http://randyrick.us/motorcycles/Randy_resized.jpg
  11. Lewis, Thanks again for organizing and running the Vogel 2011 Rally. Thanks to Rick Haywood I got the Killboy link for the pictures taken last friday while riding the Dragon. We went up late in the 2-4pm pictures, and back down early in the after 4pm pictures. I have purchased the high res version of this pic for you and should have the link to it soon. Thanks again, Randy
  12. Tell Tom we'll get this figured out. I presume the bike and trailer are at a private impound lot. ? You may not want to move the bike and trailer until the insurance appraiser for the person at fault takes pictures and decides whether or not they are totalled. If totalled and Tom wants to take the insurance settlement for them, then someone merely needs to get his personal stuff and camping gear. I have a 4x8 trailer that needs a new bed put in it. But I have the new bed and it would take a day to make it roadworthy. Not sure both the bike and trailer would fit in it. Maybe? Where is Tom going when released from the hospital? Any estimate when that will be yet? I suspect he may not be able to drive (a rental car) when released, is this so? I called Tom but got VM. Will try to get more info from him so we can get him taken care of.
  13. Annie, where are you and Al headed next? I saw something about Pork In The Pines.
  14. This is good news. I'll cross post this to the origonal thread.
  15. hurricane party at Eck's place this weekend..
  16. I'm 3 hours north of Macon (add an hour if its Atlanta rush hour), and not on the direct route from much of anywhere. But, I will get to the hospital to visit Tom soon. Hopefully Tricia (GAWildcat) gives us a good report on Tom today.
  17. This is good news, that Tom is able to make tele calls to friends.
  18. Prayers still going out for David
  19. so drive shafts do break once in a while??? Hopefully a 1st gen thing....
  20. supposedly with ABS wheel lockup is prevented. I agree that built in air compressor isn't needed. another nice to have is a rear wheel that can be easily removed from one side only ala BMW. Requires a center stand to do this on the road though. I'm perfectly happy with a 1300cc 98hp engine. I don't need to ride over 120mph. 55mpg would probably tempt me to buy new. keep the 5 year warranty and design in ease of self maintenance. I'm surprised no one mentioned to have a beefed up rear shock?
  21. when pads wear, the pistons are more extended. that accounts for some of the fluid. I'll note also when filling with new pads in place, that the pistons may be back farther than needed until the brakes are used a few times and the new pads settle in. So maybe they weren't filled as much as you thought. This may or may not have anything to do with what you're seeing.
  22. Ask Condor....
  23. Thanks Monty. Tom Daroza is in intensive care at Medical Center of Central Georgia 777 Hemlock Street Macon, GA 31201 Ph: 478.633.1000 The tele operator wouldn't give me any further details since I said I wasn't a family member. A family member will have to give me a 'passcode'. So waiting to get more data. Tricia, Thanks for checking in on Tom on Tuesday. Robin, Thanks for the updates.
