  1. That looks really good.
  2. Tricia PM'd me that Tom is going to get the trailer himself.
  3. Good luck with the doctor. Hopefully its something simple that will heal.
  4. Thanks. I think a lot of us have been praying for this kind of news.
  5. a utility patent is more vulnerable to inadvertent expiration when an inventor fails to pay the required maintenance fees at the 3.5, 7.5 and 11.5-year intervals after the patent is granted. Any one familiar with patent databases that could find if the patent has been renewed? I found the Google Patent database search, but wasn't able to find the instrument pod. http://www.google.com/patents
  6. Rick, glad you're mostly Ok. The bike can be fixed up.
  7. If I could pull it to the Florida line is there someone else who could store it or take on down to Tom? It doesn't make any sense for me to bring it back to north Georgia.
  8. glad you made it home ok. it was good to see you two.
  9. both my RSTD and RSV get around 42mpg when ridden under 70mph. regular gas.
  10. The brakes pads will sometimes pick up a piece of grit.
  11. Does someone sell self cancelling chokes for the RSV ? Thats new to me. I don't want one, but just curious.
  12. It does take a moment to warm up. The carbs out of sync could make it worse. A low mileage 6 year old bike may need a good dose of seafoam and some hard running to clean the carbs out. Not sure what to say about the chrome choke knob not staying out. I have the factory knob and it stays outuntil I push it back in. Maybe someone else has seen this before? Good catch on the low mileage 06.
  13. Bubba and Johnny Ray were sittin' on the front porch drinking beer when a large truck loaded with rolls and rolls of sod went by. "I'm gonna do dat when I win the lottery," said Bubba. "Do what?" asked Johnny Ray. "Send my grass out to be mowed."
  14. the problem with emptying the tank isn't the fuel, its the air in the tank that will collect moisture and then cause condensation when the temperature drops. You're much better off with a full tank and sea foam, as there is then little air to bring moisture into the tank.
  15. Glad you had a good time. And you spread fun and excitement everywhere you went. cheers
  16. change is not always good.
  17. I have a carbtune in Dahlonega. PM me and we can do the carbtune. I'll be doing my RSTD soon as my mileage also seems to be off lately.
  18. Let me know next time you ride this. Maybe we can pull together some of GA riders.
  19. I 'think' I remember that an early Royal Star (Tour Deluxe, Classic, etc) pre RSV style had a shorter kickstand which is otherwise interchangeable.
  20. too many good people being hurt. prayers sent for her and the family
  21. Are you going to be able to get any relief from the insurance company of the woman who hit you? think lawyer in this situation.
  22. I'm surprised Georgia shows 16% uninsured as supposedly they check via computer for valid insurance every year at renewal time.
  23. My nephew was given an early medical discharge from the Marines last week and has been stationed near Ft. Worth, TX. So rode here to my place in N. Georgia on his was to northern KY to visit his 2 kids (living with his Ex). He's got a beautiful, copper colored recent Vrod. Thats likely the Harley I would want. Rode some roads around the area Saturday, most of which were visited during the Vogel rally and wound up in Helen for supper. Sunday he wanted to ride the Dragon. We took the ride up US129 past Vogel and straight up 129 to Deals Gap, got there just before noon and had lunch. I turned him loose to ride the Dragon and on his way to Knoxville and north while I tried a new road. The Fontana Road is the 'other' road which runs north of US129 coming to a junction at Deals Gap. I haven't ridden it before. What a treat. Its NC28 and runs all the way to Franklin, a 2 hour ride of mostly narrow 2 lane twisty slow road. There were a couple spots where it was 4 lane or improved, but not too many miles of that. A lot of NC28 overlooks the Little Tennessee River. At Franklin there are lots of good riding roads to jump to, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Stay on NC28 to The Highlands and US64 east, north on 441 to Maggie Valley or Gatlinburg, or US64 back towards Murphy, NC.
  24. that was fast. must have ben a 1st gen
  25. I was about to post that Home Depot has these on sale, but the above link has a better price. Has anyone adapted the Milwaukee jackets to run off motorcycle power? they are 12volt, so it should be doable? Or has anyone used one with the 12v battery pack that is used in common with power tools? A heated jacket for $110 sounds like a fair price. attached is a pic of the jackets 12v connection, looks like a cord with a 12v plug of some kind to the battery pack. should be easy to make a mate for it to run off a motorcycle. $152 with battery and charger on Amazon.com [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0048EJXK2]Amazon.com: Milwaukee 2331-XL M12 12-Volt X-Large Heated Jacket Set: Home Improvement@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41Iz9qJ9KGL.@@AMEPARAM@@41Iz9qJ9KGL[/ame]
