  1. good news on the stitches taken out. its been 4 years and the plate in my arm still bothers me. which probably isn't good news.
  2. anyone know what the situation is now?
  3. BUFFET But I do enjoy watching other people lose their money. The smart boys on Wallstreet already have gotten most of mine.
  4. Casino BUFFET ? Might be a good lunch stop while at the 2012 International - hint - hint !
  5. good pics. thanks.
  6. I love my Millenium. Its a great ride. See you on the road.
  7. and you didn't need any parts. Wait till that happens and wait and wait
  8. check your air deflector including bracket.
  9. 3 and 4 are compatible, with 4 having a higher boiling point. They're just saying it can be used for systems designed for either 3 or 4, which should be true of any DOT 4 brake fluid. A quart is a lot of brake fluid. More than enough to do your brakes and clutch twice over.
  10. I take he was able to properly recite the muster at the Alamo before he was dunked?
  11. prayers sent. May the young man recover
  12. I forgot to say another possible difference is the California sales models having additional emission controls.
  13. Thanks Goose. Ventureriders comes thru again.
  14. V7Goose is going to call Terry. Terry bled the clutch twice, that hasn't fixed it. he had the oil changed by a Yamaha dealer so presume it has the correct oil.
  15. This picture from Tech tips, the shiny plate on top may be the factory flat spring & plate which I presume is all that has to be removed if doing a spring and gasket upgrade??? http://www.venturerider.org/clutchupgrade/image008.jpg I say this not having done the job, and no where finding that specific info. I did not discuss what kind of engine oil Terry was running. Hopefully not a friction modifier automotive oil, which could be the source of his problems. Stuff I copied from other threads on the forum... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63201 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60398 spring only fix recommended as quick fix, options, springs from barnett, heavier spring from PCW, or double up on stock Yamaha springs, ie add a new one to the old one. The Barnett kit is a true conversion from a flat diaphragm type spring to a pressure plate/coil spring type. Talk to Rick at http://www.buckeyeperformance.com/ Barnett kit available as a spring/pressure plate only upgrade or with discs. members report the spring/plate only upgrade solved their problems Full PCW upgrade replaces the 1/2 friction plate with a full one narrowing the friction zone which some don't like. Spring only upgrade available from PCW (v7Goose recommends) http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=35674 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=22927 Goose says call PCW Racing at 518-346-7203 and tell them you want the spring upgrade kit(only) 518-346-7203 http://www.pcwracing.net/ Just tell 'em you want a clutch spring upgrade for a Royal Star Venture. Should cost around $82 for the kit If want to do the PCW kit, suggest calling V7Goose http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18576 service manual http://labs.trunkful.com/vrmanuals/index.cfm on a trike will need to drain oil as it sits flat when opening the right side.
  16. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=10518 need to find a springs upgrade article. I know I've seen one...
  17. Terry just called me. He's going to get a fresh can of DOT4 synthetic brake fluid and bleed the clutch line, cleaning out the reservoir bowl. i told him to run just about the full can thru the line. The bike had been sitting for 2 years before he got it. He's staying at the timeshare in Branson until Saturday with his brotherinlaw who also has a Venture. I told him about the offer to send him asap the Skydoc clutch upgrade kit one member has. I'll also PM Skydoc and see if he's following this. If he wants a kit, he'll have to furnish a mailing address. He'll decide after bleeding the clutch line with fresh fluid. That shouldn't take too long. Terry has found a local 'generic' MC shop that may help. Told him that BW-PS is not a Yamaha MC dealer after-all. Since I haven't done a spring only or spring & plate clutch upgrade myself, someone who has may want to jump in and provide a pointer to how-to's. Maybe Earl aka skydoc. I told Terry that from what I've read here, its easy to do in an hour or two. Terry is hesitant about his mechanical skills and hasn't worked on the bike/trike much.
  18. No differences year to year on the 05-09 RSTD's other than the paint. The "S" model has more Chrome each year. I like the Avon Venoms on mine going with a 130 width front tire whch seems to make the bike a bit more nimble. welcome to the Ventureriders. Pics..????
  19. Called Terry. Read Condor's post to him and told him a couple others had said may need clutch plates and at least spring. Gave him the info about nearby Yamaha Dealer. he does say that the clutch is a little better after it sits a while, but still not driveable. he will try Condor's trick to bleed a little clutch fluid in the morning. If not will give Dealer a call. he's staying at a timeshare where he may be able to borrow a computer to get back on here later.
  20. There was a Yamaha dealer just west of Branson 2 years ago when we had the International at the Hub. Found it. http://www.bw-ps.com/ (417)338-1156 Branson West Powersports Country Music Boulevard 9209 State Highway 76 Branson West MO 65737
  21. Had to get up at 3am this morning to drive a supply truck around the mountains to rest stops for a major bicycle race held here every year. Finished deliveries and was back home about 9am or so after a breakfast stop. The roads we ride around Vogel are going to be packed with about 3,000 bicycles today. I think I'll stay off the roads. But, the weather is a beautiful 82F so, just did an oil change on my Suzuki DR200, lubed the chain up, and filled the air in the tires, and will head for the dirt roads in the Chattahoochie Natl Forest. Will thaw out a steak for dinner when I get back in 3 hours or so.
  22. That would be a tough deal to walk away from. If you find another just like it, let me know...
  23. There have been several people with leaking oil pressure lines that I am aware of. And of more concern is the ability to perhaps be able to run the bike after an accident lays it down. That oil tube hanging out the side makes it a high probability that if its laid down on that side, the oil gauge tube will be taken out.
  24. I'm interested in how the pressure sending unit works for you as I don't like the idea of running a pressure tube to the gauge. And am thinking about adding gauges. Waiting to see what folks say.
