  1. The good news here is that there are more jobs for social workers.
  2. Or consider the Tour Deluxe. It has the same engine you already know and love in a cruiser configuration. prices on new-old-stock and low mileage RSTD's are very low, considering what a great bike they are.
  3. There seem to be other posts with a future timestamp (less than an hour in the future) occurring at the moment. I just checked my computer's time, and it is correct 9:33 EST currently.
  4. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=65462 I replied to Atldragonslayer and my reply went into the thread in front of an older post. I noticed the previous post actually had a timestamp that was 1/2hour in the future. So subsequant posts were showing up (text-wise) prior to the quoted post, out of sequence. ie: I posted at 9:15am clock time, but Bob's prior post had a timestamp of 9:45am.
  5. Its now 9:15 am. How did your quoted post get a 9:45 timestamp?
  6. Bob, Its funny you should post this at this time. I'd just got done ordering a new touchscreen phone to replace my old pushbutton one and it arrived on Monday. Its been a hoot. Using my fingers to select alpha characters doesn't seem to work too well on most menus. I've found than a popsicle stick or closed ballpoint pen end works better on the touch screen. I'm not sure thats an improvement over actual keys though. Maybe I should have gotten one with a qwerty keypad? But this one was on sale. I needed to get a new battery for my old one, and needed to buy some more airtime (pay as you go phone). The new phone was basically free asit came with an airtime deal, and hopefully a new battery installed. Also has a microSD memory card slot and can be used as an MP3 player. Had to buy a memory card and USB to microUSB cable, but it hooks up fine to any computer for downloading or uploading stuff. Discovered I can use the usb cable for charging it from a computer. haven't used it for an internet connection yet. I'll probably give that a try sometime. But the minutes may be expensive if I start doing too much web browsing with the pay-as-you-go phone. And has a 2mpix camera which takes quite good pictures, and even video, although I haven't tryed the video yet. hmm. I wonder if it washes dishes too?
  7. Of course, anyone that wants to make of fool of himself could be a star.... I have a doctor appt in the morning, but may be able to get there.
  8. usually bad riding weather brings it out.... freezer
  9. Is it a Venture (with top box, fairing, and CB radio) or an early Royal Star with just a windshield up front? At $4k the Venture would be a better buy than a Royal Star.
  10. There's never any politics on this forum, is there? a

  20. there are several KLRs for sale over on the advrider forum http://www.advrider.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=52
  21. Dano, Welcome back. It wasn't the same without you.
  22. there were a couple KLR 650's entered in the races at Barber when I went a couple years ago. they did ok against the vintage bikes in their class - Triumphs, BSA'a, Nortons, etc. I'm not sure how they qualified for the vintage races, but there they were. I came real close to buying a KLR 650 2+ years ago but eventually I bought a smaller Suzuki DR200. But I only have to ride about 3 miles to be on Forest Service roads.
  23. Let us know how they perform, and how many miles you eventually get out of them.
  24. may he depart with God's peace and grace
