  1. The Honda CX500 I had once upon a time was one of the best MC's I've ever owned for putting around within a few hundred miles. Good luck with the deployment, and congrats on getting the rocker.
  2. was that a government censored school?
  3. I got rid of Progressive as my rates kept going up every year.
  4. No liability is risky. if you are judged at fault in an accident with someone else, that person could sue you for damages and their medical expenses, etc. Liability on 3 bikes thru Dairyland is less than $100/yr. back to the origonal post about an OBD attached device. I'll bet any amount of money that in 10 years all new cars will have satellite tracking in them and the equivalent of the airplane black box. oh. and read the entire article about Progressive and its ex-CEO.the rebuttal of some of the claims in the first part come later in a follow-on piece.
  5. sunday Jan 29th is ok, also the next weekend both days. Lets see what the weather looks like. Could do it here, or maybe meet at Pooles in Ellijay for some BBQ and do it in their parking lot.
  6. should be able to find an RSTD for $5k. And there have been a few RSVs sell for that.

  13. Welcome Pete and of course we'll need pictures when its back together. or now even to document the process...
  14. go here to get a copy of the 2005-2009 RSTD service manual. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58269
  15. I believe the 130/90-16 front is the same size as the Avon I'm running on my RSTD and like very much. Its narrower than the stock 150/80-16.
  16. or with the engine off, just pull in the clutch lever and roll the bike in gear. if it doesn't roll the clutch may be 'locked up'. that could be a problem in the clutch line in any of several places.
  17. good looking trailer. Should have room for all your raffle winnings at the International.
  18. 0 ohms means a closed circuit or not open (what you get by touching the 2 probes together which is how you calibrate the meter) infinity means an open circuit. (high end of scale) 1 means some resistance, but not very much. probably not right. Just reread your statement.if your meter reads 1 when the probes are apart, then yes, thats an open.
  19. A set of Texas Aggie Marching Band boots
  20. I'll be in my tent near the willow again. maybe need to get a better tent, as I can see daylight thru a couple of the seams of the one I used last year.
  21. Had a large 2x4 piece of lumber fall off a truck and bounce next to me on the way back home from Cody.
  22. So does this mean that if a traffic light malfunctions at a no turn on red intersection, everyone in Chicago just waits for the street department to fix it???
  23. Can I get one with a doggie cushion in back?
  24. I hate to say it again, but many LEO and judges don't seem to care what happens to motorcyclists. Its good to see this LEO make a statement like he did. If a driver can't see a motorcycle, then they can't see a bicycle, or skateboarder, or grandma with her walker either. I say this while living in a county where the local DA refused to charge a deputy who killed a motorcyclist last year by turning accross a road to pursue a speeder and didn't look at what was coming the other way.
  25. the title of this thread should be "proceding thru a malfunctioning traffic signal". You're not proposing running a red light.
