RSTD Exhaust tip rotation
RandyR replied to Charlie01's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
go for the ride.... -
If I was a 400 lb football lineman, that would be the bike for me. Actually it was rather easier to handle than I thought it would be, although the test ride was in a pack that didn't get over 60mph or push things very much. The ride was comfortable. Was able to turn it around in a smallish cul-de-sac easily. low seat height helps to balance the weight when at a stop.

Clutch time. Parts needed and numbers?
RandyR replied to Jethroish's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
there are a couple recent threads on this very topic. Many suggest the simple solution which is to just double up with a second stock clutch spring. Earl aka skydoc_17 sells a clutch rebuild kit in the member vendor section. -

It should be ok if well maintained, but thats a big if. I'd want to carefully inspect everything. -
Frame interchangable?
RandyR replied to HotRodYJ's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
In Georgia any vehicle over 25 years old doesn't require a title. -
The forum advertiser MotorcycleGear.com (ex newEnough) seemed to have the best prices I could find and a large selection. Although I bought a new HJC one-piece full face helmet not a modular.

Where to get Rear Disk ?
RandyR replied to Mike G in SC's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I was expecting to see pie plates in the pictures. Looks like a lot of metal left. So what does "they're right there' mean when you put a micrometer on them and add a fudge factor for maybe having them turned in a machine shop? Has any one had these plates turned? I don't ever recall seeing a thread about that.- 4 replies

The alert siren went off at 11pm for about 30 minutes. I went down to the basement. But there doesn't appear to be any damage outside, not even the 'half-way normal' fallen pine tree. The storm did stall right over my head for about 8 hours before it moved out. So it had plenty of opportunity. Just checked the Atlanta paper website. It says an elementary school and local airport nw of Atlanta were detroyed early last nightand there was also some lightening damage reported locally. nothing about any people being hurt.

I'm in a town with a weather alert siren so should have about 5 minutes or more warning. I opened up my 'safe room' downstairs and put fresh batteries in a flashlight. Also got a dog leash for my 80lb puppy who goes nuts in moments when its least needed. And have a large rum & coke to sip on while I'm waiting.

I just ordered a couple things from Bikebandit and noticed they are offering a 10% discount on some items if you have a Dairyland insurance policy, or get an insurance quote while logged in to BikeBandit. It seemed to work. I entered my policy which I bought thru member eddidy and got the discount on my order.
