My replacement (if any) would be a 1000cc machine that averages 50+ mpgallon highway, has the storage capacity and comfort of a RSV with a fixed fairing and adjustable windshield at 700 lbs weight with a seat height no more than 30inches. 4 cylinder, shaft drive, water cooled peferably. Did I mention reliable and as easy to work on and maintain as a Venture?

most riders add more lights or reflectors, not remove them. Adding more lights seems to be a reflex reaction to a near miss at night. Or just a concern for the priceof plastic surgery...

Hopefully it will stop sn**ing for the International ? btw. near freezing temps here in Georgia for 2 nights. I'm refusing to turn the heat back on though. electric blankets are good....

good luck Gary.

The RSTD is a fine machine. Easier to work on than the Ventures as long as you don't need the extras. btw. its not real unless you post a picture.

Radial tires for 2nd Gen RSV
RandyR replied to dshege's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You won't hear much applause for the Bridgestones. Radials aren't common in our size and weight requirements. The most popular tires are Avon Venoms, and Dunlops. Some like the Metzlers, but many think they throw tread (I like them and have never had a problem with them). There are dozens of threads about tires, the most popular topic after oil choice. -
while straight, not while leaning. I put a 1x4 under the kickstand to bring it almost level, then tilt the bike the rest of the way while looking at the sight glass. Some people use a dental/inspection mirror while seated on the bike.
