  1. I don't think the Venture has a different gear ratio than the RSTD (2005-2009).

    Gun Club

That has happened a lot of places here in the States too. Where I live in Georgia the State legislature passed a law 'grandfathering' in all existing gun clubs so this couldn't happen. or even individuals couldn't buy property next to a gun club, then complain about noise or anything else. good luck.
  3. per another thread here: All Balls makes a front bearing kit with seals that sells for about $25.00 That's half of what yamaha gets for the oem parts ordered individually. The part number for the kit is 12-5545 Ragtop69gs
  4. Ruffy, looking forward to seeing you back on the road soon. Maybe we could have a seafood M&E in Savanah some time soon?

    Venture Road Star?
  6. I see both an 160 and 170 width rear tire in the new Bridgestone. Be anxious to see if anyone tries one of them also. http://www.bridgestone.com/products/motorcycle_tires/products/exedra/max.html
  7. the V-max was 1200cc, not 1300cc. 1985-2008 since 2009 the new Vmax has the 1700cc engine.
  8. Good grab. Is it going to fit in your pickup with the lift? can the lift be modified ?
  9. New front tires on my RSTD and RSV less than 5,000 miles each. I'm good for a while. I'm happy with the Dunlop on the RSV so far. And I didn't have any problems when I ran Metzlers.
  10. I think you're right.
  11. I like it just the way it is. I can work on it without $25,000 worth of special tools and computer hookups.
  12. Good to know everything's still up to date in Kansas City.
  13. Its up. 2013 Venture looks like the two-tone black from 2012 ! http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/products/modelgallerylib/586/1/0/gallery.aspx oh yes. cassette is a standard feature....
  14. to clarify what I said: Georgia starting in 2012. You may exclude $65,000 of retirement income if you're over age 62 or you're under age 62 and totally and permanently disabled. Previously the amount was $35,000.
  15. I'd love to, but just too busy. btw. you can get WSM radio out of nashville via the internet now. http://www.wsm650online.com/Radio-Player/
  16. There is a VA hospital on the north side of Atlanta which is easily accessed. If you are interested in the north Georgia mountain area, Camp Merrill (Ranger Camp) near Dahlonega has a good PX/commissary I'm told. Also a good medium size hospital here and 2 larger hospitals within 25 miles. Weather here is just about ideal. summers aren't as hot as either the midwest or Texas or Florida. Very little snow in the winter, in general. There aren't any pre-built communities, but you can buy a lot and have a pre-built put up on it. I'd look at buying used as the market is depressed a little right now. Georgia doesn't charge state income tax on pensions. I would call Georgia very veteran friendly. Some counties in GA have reduced property taxes for those over 65. Varies by county.
  17. If you want to meet at Dillard House for lunch or supper, I'd meet you. The food is great. Then I'd be happy to show you some good roads running west in the direction of Dahlonega, GA.
  18. So tell us about the biscuits worth riding 200 miles for?
  19. another prayer sent
  20. No cracking on my RSTD after 14 months and 5,000miles
  21. so how's it run & ride?
  22. doing nothing can be an artform Thats my philosophy..... retired 4 years now
  23. its in the MD pics
  24. It looks like the Road Stars are selling for as much as an RSTD. In my mind the RSTD is a much better machine.
  25. some of the amateur radio guys here may have gotten far enough into the radio to have found a schematic for it????
