  1. Gagle has announced that as the technology has improved in satellite imagery they are now able to offer customized download service for your GPS devices. For instance you can now receive directions like: Prepare to slow down, Farmer Brown's daughter is sunning herself neath the oak tree on your right. Turn right when you get to the intersection with the two cows in the field to your left. Hal's Pool Room, .2 mile ahead on your left is serving 50cent drafts this afternoon. Turn left on the next gravel road to get to Big Bub's secret catfishing creek. and Minnie Pearl's voice is offered as an affordable GPS customization.
  2. I hope things turn for the better Lewis. Retirement was the best thing I ever did. Maybe you can concentrate on getting yourself healed up then, instead of whats happening at work.
  3. yes. zip ties
  4. I kinda like it. But if I buy another new bike it will be in the 750cc-900c range and under 600lbs. I would have bought a Honda ST once upon a time if my 28" inseam legs could have reached the ground.
  5. yes, that works. But the link to order a video disc was bad. here it is. http://www.visualheritage.ca/1812.html $28.41US for the CD version via paypal There are several other videos on Ontario history at that link. thx for the link.
  6. prayers sent. she should be almost good as new soon.
  7. This got me looking at the FJR's. It seems there were several changes for 2013. Improved rings and cylinder walls for better reliability. 3 more hp. cruise control. dual-mode performance computer, ie: cruising or power, modified exhaust. slightly different look to the front fairing. Its hard to tell from the pictures. That said, there are some very good deals on NOS 2012's out there.
  8. When 3 or more politicians are gathered together expect the liberties and rights and money of the citizens to be in jeopardy.
  9. where's the garbage truck ?
  10. why? Not required or needed to the best of my knowledge. But to answer your question, I've never heard of one forsale. maybe someone else has other ideas.
  11. One of the news briefs said he was riding a 2008 Yamaha...
  12. My experience with Progressive is that they started out being competitive and every year raised their rates until they were no longer. They did cover my accident on the BMW K1100 I had prior to getting my Yamaha RSTD. However, their adjuster cut a deal with the MC shop doing the repairs, and when all the money was spent (and 6 months had elapsed), only 1/2 the BMW had been repaired, it still leaked oil severely and there were scratches over much of the MC that didn't get re-painted or parts replaced. I wound up walking away from the motorcycle for $1000 which the shop gave me for it as-is. That basically covered my deductible out of pocket expenses. Net, I got nothing. My bad, I should have taken the initial insurance company settlement. But I wanted the bike repaired. I probably should have sued the shop and Progressive, but I wasn't willing to invest the time and energy into going to court.
  13. Thx guys. I'll let you know how it goes. This has been a good car so far, I'm hoping it outlasts me.
  14. I have a 2006 mercury marquis, 4.6L V8 (240ci I think). The power steering has gone out on me. fluid was very low, I filled it, and it was low again in 10 minutes. I see a leak in a pressure hose (where a metal and rubber line are joined) in front of the right front axle. Probably got caught on a rock or stick or something. Bought the hose assembly from Autozone which took 3 days to get in stock. Question. Whats the proper way to bleed the power steering if the new hose otherwise resolves that problem? The car does steer almost normal for 5 minutes after filling the reservoir, so I think there may not be major damage. I see conflicting info searching around on the internet. 1 site says I have to insert a special vaccum pump into the reservoir. I obviously don't have such a pump. I a generic reference to using a bleeder valve (like brakes have), but can't find any bleeder valve. Another generic source says loosen the high pressure side of the line and turn the wheel lock to lock to force air out, and then re-tighten it. Has anyone actually done this on this type car? The Mercury Marquis and Ford Crown Vic are mostly identical. http://randyrick.us/Merc/2006MercLeftside.JPG
  15. there's a reason they call it 'the practice of medicine' prayers sent.
  16. this thread reminds me of why I moved to Georgia.
  17. Rick, Glad it went well. letting doctors handle knives is a scarey situation.
  18. what dog?
  19. There are a couple of kits floating around with the tool and asst shims. See previous posts about that. Skydoc has a kit if you buy your gaskets from him. btw, 2nd gen gaskets fit a 1st gen and are better gaskets. I have a kit with tool and asst shims and some misc needed tools. You'll need to replace any shims 2.70mm and smaller that you use after using the kit, otherwise can swap shims. Just pay postage & insurance both ways.
  20. Bob, No new ideas here. The switch would require a shot of electrical cleaner periodically to turn smoothly, but the bike always started up ok. The battery is the one the previous owner had in it when I bought it 3.5 years ago.
  21. If you have one of the new RSV's or RSTD's then there is a 'loose' spare bolt on the side cover that is there for decoration, or maybe this purpose. This bolt needs to be periodically checked, as yours is a common problem. Maybe use a little Locktite on the replacement. Also. You should add what bike you have to your profile so it appears on your posts.
  22. The 4T is the best, the 50W is for aircooled engines in the summer.

  24. I'm sure I have some saved that are almost that old. I used one in college circa 1975 for recording music off the radio. The local radio station would announce what song was being played next and I would record it if it was one I wanted to learn to play on guitar. thank you GI Bill
  25. Using the ski lifts to go up to the top of the mountains and then riding downhill is not the way mileage is usually computed.
