  1. guess who's wife is going to start having migraine headaches???
  2. The ice cream in hospitals is usually good..... good luck.
  3. Give Santa some rum balls. That'll put the cheer back into him...
  4. Just read a tech news article that stated a study of 20,000 web sites traffic revealed that 61% of the web traffic was generated by BOTs (automated web crawlers). The study then concluded that 38.5% of web traffic was human traffic. However, (my thoughts), this doesn't take into account the amount of spam email, and advertising, which I would estimate are 50% of everything I see (or have forced onto me). If so, then less than 20% of internet traffic is wanted user traffic. Further, 80% of my internet charges go to supporting traffic that I'm not getting any use out of.
  5. To add to MiCarl's post. There is evidence that the wrong additive's in an oil can also cause or contribute to slippage of a wet clutch.
  6. If the clutch slips excessively when engaging or the engine can rev when gunned (break loose the engaged clutch).
  7. a prayer said here for your mother and family.
  8. In Texas they just use a belt-fed .50 to clear the scrub out....
  9. It was just made in China last week. That's pretty new.

  11. He'll be able to sleep in the car that night.
  12. for those having problems with Win8 I suggest doing the upgrade to Win8.1 before you revert to Win 7. At the lower left hand corner of Win8.1 there appears an arrow, which, if clicked on gives the icons for everything that previously was in the Win 7 startup menu.
  13. yep. They did a terrible job of making it easy for normal people who had gotten used to previous versions of Windows to transition. For most people, the computer is a tool, not a game in-and-of itself. Re: standardization. At one point in time I had 3 motorcycles which had controls oriented differently. shift on the left, shift on the right. down for a lower gear vs up for a lower gear. I'm happy that we have standards for that aspect of motorcycling now. Not to mention the time I was left picking rose bush thorns out of my hide for a week after turning the throttle on a Cushman scooter the wrong way (it is opposite all my motorcycles). I do easily become a creature of habit.
  14. good that you were able to get the bike running. It sounds like Dynatek did right by you.
  15. You might ask yourself why someone has gone to all the work of developing and supporting this software for free. What do they get out of it? Just saying. I've been burned too many times by freeware. Until I see a review that says the sw has been analyzed in a lab and doesn't do things like data collection, tracking, commercial ad manipulation, etc, I'm going to assume it does. I will admit to hating Windows 8 intensely for about 6 months. I don't think any Microsoft O/S has been logical or user friendly, well, since DOS. But one can get used to Win 8 just like the previous barf bags. Win 8's big claim to fame is the touch screen interface to make it more like the xxxpads that many are using instead of or in addition to a desktop or full size notebook computer. A more common interface for the devices is a positive step.
  16. there's nothing like a good ride to sooth the soul.
  17. So what's a BEHM ???? BEar Hunting Motorcyclist?
  18. I think I recall hearing about MC riders in Colorado mounting knobbies that had tungsten studs for winter use.... Then again, I have a creative memory
  19. If its not running right then you just need to work thru the possible causes here on the forum. ditto on handling, although the RSTD will never handle like a 400 pound Triumph. btw. nice looking bike. you did good. (and Mark is a great guy)
  20. I guess it had to happen sooner or later. A British firm is running tests on a device to fire an ElectroMagnetic Pulse at a vehicle to confuse its computer and disable it. To be marketed to the military and police. It won't be long until there are 'underground' internet web sites with instructions for how to construct these yourself with $30 of readily available parts. Every once in a while there is a news story of someone's car or truck who stopped on a road going past an airport. The vehicle's mysterious stoppage is then traced to an air radar placed too near the roadway and interfering with ignition system / computer. I expect a lot of father's with teenage daughters to buy these to try on boyfriends cars...
  21. I don't believe that's true.
  22. the smell of gas is what happens when 1 cylinder isn't running. You should try v7goose's method for testing the heat at the exhaust pipes to determine which one. It takes no mechanical ability what-so-ever
  23. that's a good looking car Wes, Congrats
