  4. no problems here with Windows 8.1. I'll have to see what HP's reason for going back to W7 was?
  5. I have a kit that I loan out, with shims, shim tool, and some asst tools to help the job. If loaned out, I ask that any shims you use 2.70mm and smaller be replaced. Any others can be swapped out. If you break the tool, you have to replace it. (its happened once in about 30 uses). Pay insured postage both ways. About $8 for a small USPS Priority Mail box. MiCarl (advertises in the vendor members section) sells the tool and shims. Send me a PM if you want to borrow the kit. You'll want to buy a pair of gaskets. Randy
  6. Thats the rear pads he's talking about. Its a 5 minute job to swap the inside pad with the outside pad. That will even out the wear.
  7. This sounds like you may be making the harness & relay adapters in qty to sell? Did I understand that correctly? If so, put me on the list.
  8. mechanically the 2 bikes are the same, including the shocks. That said, the RSTD is 50lbs lighter and the avg RSTD rider is less likely to ride 2 up pulling a trailer. So, for those reasons, there are probably fewer blown shocks on RSTD's I owned both an RSV and RSTD. I mostly ride solo. I decided to sell the RSV for the reasons outlined by the OP
  9. I had loud pipes for a while and went back to stock. It keeps the little old ladies in the neighborhood happy when I roll back in late at night. Its easier on my nerves too. I have a carbtune in Dahlonega, GA if thats any help oh yes, ya did good on the price. Play around with motorcycle oils. Some oils seem to help with the whine issue more than others. Rotella white jug works fine. But my '08 RSTD has a whine right around 70mph also. No problem at 80 though:fingers-crossed-emo
  10. I usually stay at one of the 2 Motel-6s just south of downtown by the airport. Anything walking distance to downtown is not going to be cheap.

  19. If you include the cost of a shiny new battle tank and fuel into the salary of every private then maybe you can come up with the numbers that news article quotes.
  20. If it was an even numbered day you should have used even oil instead of odd oil. That could be your problem.

  23. I'm a firm believer in trickle-down economics. The government should send me lots of money and I'd trickle it out buying things for myself until its all gone, thereby helping the entire economy.
