  1. Ride on my friends.
  2. The US Demo list has been updated with BE ONE OF THE FIRST TO DEMO RIDE THE ALL NEW STAR VENTURE Tuesday, July 18, 2017 - Thursday, July 20, 2017 Star Days (MN) Saturday, August 05, 2017 - Saturday, August 12, 2017 Sturgis
  3. You're right. I added the Yamaha Canada link also. so, with that we have 2 out of 3 for N. America. Didn't see anything for Mexico.
  4. I sent email to 3 dealers with demo days in July. They replied that they won't have the 2018 Venture on the Demo Trucks until its available to dealers in August. (2 dealers near Knoxville, TN, and one in SC. So Yamma was bit premature suggesting we should go see one at a demo day.
  5. You might as well ask why low mileage Ventures are often offered forsale. Saying 'whats wrong' is misleading, imo. there's a hundred possible answers. I don't ride enough I'm too old I want another bike My wife doesn't like it I need money for my kids college I want a sportbike Its too fast for me I don't like the seat. Its time to change the oil so I'm buying a new bike instead etc
  6. https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/motorsports/yamahaevents http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/road_power_tour/schedule.php The official Yamaha demo lists. Lets talk about local demos, who might be going from this forum that we might meet, and most importantly, what you think of a hands-on look and ride. Although the bike is expected to start shipping to dealers after August 31, I expect there will be enough pre-orders that we likely won't find them at local dealers until end of this year or early 2018.
  7. the web page says August, taking pre-orders now for $500 down. However, there are a number of Yamaha road shows where the bike will be viewable, and maybe even demo rides. I'll start another thread to talk about demos of the new vtwin Venture. https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/motorsports/yamahaevents
  8. I guess he smelled it before he could get close.
  9. a good looking bike, but I'll have to pass. a big v-twin isn't what I would ride.
  10. They're waiting for Puc and Tips to arrive on Tweeks. Nice of them, eh?
  11. yep. 6pm cdt, or 7pm edt We'll see you on the camera Puc & Tips. If Mama Yama is smart they'll show a closeup of Tweeks and the new Venture side by side.
  12. puc has surfaced in another thread... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?130017-tips-great-tweeks-great-stayin-ahead-of-rain-n-ridin-hard
  13. Chat might be a good place to hang out at 7pm edt today while watching the unveil livestream. I expect a good number of us will be watching. https://yamahamotorsports.com/transcontinental-touring 10 more hours
  14. time to send out a search party to find Puc
  15. Good to hear Becky was just bruised and shaken. Tell her we all are wishing her the best.
  16. Sorta like one of these 1984 beauties? 1984 Honda Magna V30
  17. I'll be here with a cold 6-pack watching and on VR Chat.
  18. hmmm. so if I understand this right, if I'm planning on killing myself by overindulging in sex, that I might as well have some poutine too? Will consuming some/more/still more scotch help alleviate any of the adverse affects, or just enable me not to care?
  19. does this mean that poutine isn't good for us?
  20. pm sent. I have a kit with the correct tool in it
  21. They are the same. check the parts numbers. You can replace parts instead of the entire assembly. There was an ECO to the early (pre-2003) petcocks. http://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/2008-yamaha-royal-star-tour-deluxe-deep-purplish-blue-metallic-l-black-metallic-x-xvz13ctx/o/m154156#sch540465
  22. Good luck Dick.
  23. Most of the sources for shims get them to you in 2-3 days, not weeks. If there's no one waiting for the kit, holding the kit for an extra week is ok as long as you communicate that with me. What is common practice is to return the kit when you're done and have the replacement shims drop shipped to me (with tracking). The adjustment 1 time only at 30,000 miles? I think several riders here will chip in that they've had to adjust a valve on a 2nd go-around at 60,000 miles or later. Not checking them would be a gamble. Adjusting all the shims to be slightly on the loose side of the good range is what I try to do while I'm doing the job, since they will tighten up over time (due to the valves wearing into the heads).
  24. 3 of them were mine.
