  1. I had one of those a while back. It seemed to work OK. I'd forgotten about it. Its probably in the bottom of my car's trunk.
  2. Its good you're here with us to talk about it. Mend well.
  3. You may have to pay Lock fees to get past a few of the dams. Unless you're Huck Finn that is?
  4. I think a detailed look at the engine and drive train are in order.
  5. I wonder how it handles in the twisties?

    Warning

I must have slept thru it. My favorite kind of problem !!!
  7. The 2005-2009 RSTD is 98% mechanically the same as 1999-2013 RS Venture, but without the fairing and top box and electronics. Mechanically the gas tank and seat are also different between the Venture and RSTD. Very reliable and many have upwards of 200k miles on them. The single rear shock is a common item that may need replacement, or rebuilding. A few need a coil replaced. And suggest that an easy mod to install a relay with the key since full power to the lights runs thru the switch and can lead to early failure. Its a good bike. welcome

    It says its a prototype.
  9. FF, you could make really good money renting your machine out to the ski resorts, ya know?
  10. Here's a web link of the Niken AND a Yamaha pickup truck advertised as a motorcycle hauler... picture of pickup below http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2017/10/25/yamaha-designed-pickup-truck-for-motorcycle-owners.html
  11. The Utube is from India. Maybe a test market, and not intended for US sales?
  12. In an emergency, a pair of filter tips from cigs work pretty good.
  13. how does a slightly stuck open valve intersecting the crown of the piston factor into the equations?
  14. It was at that facebook link that was posted. I watched. it was 30 minutes of Honda sales guys talking to some local dealers and showing a few videos they will use for future media spots. Just the Goldwing and bagger models we've already seen. Nothing about the new Valkyrie. Claimed 20% better gas mileage with new engineering. Thats always a good thing for a touring bike. As well as better performance and handling. 8 year warranty. 3 year full factory, and 5 more available extended warranty. Its on the regular web page now. msrp base model $23,500 https://powersports.honda.com/2018/gold-wing.aspx
  15. I presumed the one there is a picture of before the video starts is some special cost variant or some-such. I suppose we'll know more soon.
  16. Apparently there will be a new Valkyrie also. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAS9szXRbsg
  17. More info. good reading. http://www.enginebuildermag.com/2017/10/assembly-fastening-lubes-dont-underestimate-importance-proper-lubrication/
  18. The Versys does look good. I gawked at that for a while yesterday after looking at the sales promo for the new Kawa touring bike. The seat is a bit high for my short legs. I'd need to put high heals on my boots, for sure.
  19. Puk, I hear ya, and think you're right on. However, many motorcyclists are also wrenchers, by inclination or necessity. I will admit that all things otherwise equal, I'll always chose a machine that I can work on, without it requiring a tool set and computer that costs more than the vehicle. But, I'll be closely watching both Honda and Kawa for what their new bikes deliver.
  20. I found a Cycleworld article with a pointer to a Youtube of the Kawasaki being talked about above. It would be hard for me to imagine they were talking about a touring bike from the Utube. https://www.cycleworld.com/kawasaki-has-supercharged-sport-tourer-set-to-debut
  21. 70 seems to be a popular year. ride on.
  22. I have no knowledge of your camera or problem, specifically. But the video playback software I use has a 'speed' option. Its freeware and used by many people. VLC player. here's where you can download it. http://www.videolan.org/
  23. Happy Birthday Evan May it be a Very Good Year
  24. I rode in a small group on my 900cc Triumph where another rider had one of the BMW 1200's also. I was very surprised how well a tall and heavy bike like that handled in the twisties. Nice ride.
