    R.I.P.

    My condolences and prayers.
  3. I sure hope some mentally deranged individual doesn't read this and believes it and acts on it.
  4. re: Shim Bucket tool, it is item # P517 for a price of $11.95 each. be careful. There are a number of dealers selling the WRONG shim tool for the xvz12/13 engines. There was a misprint in the K&L Supply catalog which is where many dealers get these items from. The correct tool is KL-35-3462
  5. I replied to Shawn at Preferred Powersports of Syracuse stating I still wanted 1 kit and about 10 singles. Additionally I ordered a set of passing lamps and mounting bar. I paid by Paypal, and the payment in paypal hasn't been collected by them yet. I hadn't heard anything back from them in a week, so I just called. Shawn is not there. I spoke with a lady Erin who said she was familiar with the situation. She stated that there were over 50 orders for the shim kits, and that they intended to honor the reduced price quoted in the email to us (those of us that got a letter anyway, I didn't ask about Goose's previous comment). Erin said she would investigate if I would forward to her my response to Shawn. So I did that and will wait to hear back from her. Erin@preferredpowersports.com Customer Service Phone:315-699-2592
  6. Maybe I'm not ready for a gps. For $6 I can get an updated Walmart N. America road map atlas every year. Will I be the last one buying these?
  7. What about price of updates and special maps (like forest service roads). I heard that the updates from Tom-Tom are free. Is that true? I've been put off on what the updates and extra maps seem to cost and haven't gotten a GPS yet.
  8. Looks like I'd need something stouter than an ultralight spin rod if I went fishn with you Charlie... a 2 pound rainbow is a big one in the streams near here.
  9. Goose, Have you tried the fuel level test using a clear tube again? That seems to be a standard test for other makes of MC also. The maintenance guide for my new Suzuki trail bike says to just use some clear tubing connected to the float bowl drain to see if the fuel level is even with the top of the bowl (at gasket line).
  10. No squeal or lock up with the stock pads still on the front of my 08 RSTD. I did rotate the inner and outer rear pads at 4,000 miles, they had plenty of pad left.
  11. I need to get one of those collapsable rods. I just found a beautiful trout stream about 45 minutes from my house, that I didn't know was there until out exploring on my new 200cc Suzuki on Saturday...
  12. This store is dangerous..... warning stay away... I went there to pick up two of the trailer tires for $90 and spent another $300 on tools that I decided I must have....
  13. I have this tach but with handlebar mounts, which was installed with V7Goose's help at maintenance day. my background led does not flicker. Are you sure its connected to plain 12v dc and not a timing circuit?
  14. Pictures need to be saved to an internet address that everyone can see, like the Venturerider album or Photobucket then linking to those photos in this thread. If you have photos on your computer, you can attach them.
  15. skeeters make great fish callers. Black flies too. You catch them, and put them in a jar. Maybe a 100 or 200. Then lower the jar in the water and the bug buzz calls the fish right to your hook.
  16. Here's the document attached.
  17. I saw those on a RSV recently and assumed it was something the bike's owner made up himself in jest.
  18. hmmm... I used it recently on recommendation of several on this forum, and didn't see that kind of problem.
  19. Bon voyage Jeff. I know you'll stay in touch and tell us what you can.
  20. Hey hey...
  21. I did just what you told me to do.
  22. Most of what you said you would like to see is already here in this Tech Talk section. Just look around or use the Search tab
  23. I could bring my CarbTune to the rally in Arkansas in 10 days.
  24. I got the same email. I'll still order a lesser number of shims so will have a kit and tool here in Georgia. The 25mm shims are also what my Triumph uses.
  25. http://www.northerntool.com/ Seems to have the best prices on trailer tires that I can find. I'm refurbing my trailer and the 990 lb load rating new wheels plus tires are priced better than most stores 880 lb tires only. Check both the online prices and store flyer specials. $44.99 each for the 990 lb 4.80x12 with new wheels, in store special.
