  1. Looks like a good 2-bike combo. There are a couple other KLR owners on this forum as well. So. Tell us more about Goldie. She's a well taken care of ride, it would appear. How many miles? Are you the origonal owner?
  2. Well, the weather forecast now looks good for Thursday. I wouldn't mind a short ride up to Suches for lunch. I'll pm you my cell phone #.
  3. This brings up an interesting point. How do you prove that maintenance per the Yamaha Schedule was done if you do it yourself? Its been suggested that that keeping receipts for oil and filters and rear gear oil and a maintenance record should be acceptable for the low-tech maintenance. But what about something more complicated like your valve clearance check and adjustment. Would pictures of the the tools and and valve covers off suffice? How about a receipt for valve cover gaskets at the time the work was due?
  4. I didn't know Kumho made a red sidewall... The CT option is intriging for me, particularly if I take off on a cross country trip and don't want to worry about balding a tire crossing the Mohave Desert... But I've chickened out and gone with an Avon Venom which is sitting in my carport ready to mount soon.
  5. Looks good Wes. Its nice to know I can add a similar package if I ever want to.
  6. Yep. What he said. Several places to stop along the way. Two-Wheels in Suches, and a couple of general stores between Suches and Morgantown with good sandwiches. Between Morgantown and BlueRidge you can follow the old highway accross the dam south of 515 if you want to. What time are you coming thru Dahlonega. I could meet you for a DQ.

    BSA

    Nice. I always likes BSA's..
  8. Ponch. I'd probably be interested in adding a set of gauges to my RSTD. Here's a thought, leave the option for also mounting a couple small toggle switches for accessories like LED parking lights or fog lights in the spaces between the gauges.
  9. I was going to say.. The only good time to ride thru Atlanta is.... But I couldn't think of a good time... Yep, the NC mountains are great riding. Looking forward to seeing your travelog.
  10. Lewis.... Got to watch out all the time I guess.. They're out to get you everywhere...
  11. I would order one or two if there were a Tour Deluxe version. thanks for doing this.
  12. Congrats on the wedding. May they live happily ever after.... Great photos, I can see why you were asked to be the photographer.
  13. Squidley. Did you order them from Pinwall also? tia
  14. There are very few hunters I've met who have the knowledge or patience that you exhibit.
  15. Anyone else try flagging? Just a little flash of white. Seems to bring them in for a closer look once in a while.
  16. Gary, Good news from the Doc this time. Consider one of the Tour Deluxes if you get a new machine. It'll be familiar to you, but not quite as top heavy and it rides well.
  17. A terrible tragedy. ride safe everyone...
  18. This will be interesting... I think you'll get about 10 different answers.....
  19. If it makes your conscience feel better..
  20. You'll notice that many of those complaining about UPS are in Canada. For international shipping from the USA, USPS Priority International is usually the least expensive, and least run-around for the recipient. And I ship large packages, like guitar boxes (length plus girth must be maximum 108 inches however) and there is a maximum on the insurance which varies by country. In the USA, Usually UPS is cheaper. However, I always use a UPS company counter, not one of the UPS Stores (franchises) , which have add-on charges, and in particular, the insurance thru UPS Stores is much higher.
  21. ride on Ron.... See you at the big campfire
  22. I stopped by for a few minutes. There were about 30 vintage machines. Mostly 60's and 70's machines. old Triumphs and Hondas were 50% of what was there. Some old dirt bikes, and various other stuff. It was worth stopping in. A few of them were for sale, including a pair of mint Honda 650 Silver Wings with the full touring package that I wouldn't mind owning when I win the lottery. I picked up a pair of knobbies on sale for my Suzuki DR200 which were piled up behind the vintage dirt bikes. There were 2 new 2009 black/silver ventures for sale outside with the Moto400 inventory.
  23. Yep, heavy rain forecast in this area for Saturday. I will be in my car, but will plan on stopping at Moto400 for the show between 11 and 12 and could have lunch nearby with other members. pm me for my cell phone if you're going.
  24. Here's a pic of my ex-1997 K1100 with the quick detach bags and trunk off.. http://randyrick.us/motorcycles/BMW/K1100left.JPG Ah yes... it had a cassette player !!
