  7. I plan on having breakfast with raceman at the Crackerbarrel at the US 441 / Madison exit off I-20 at 7:15am. Then at 10am rendevous at the Golden Corral on Bobby Jones north of I-20 in Augusta, and then follow the leader to Tybee Island and the CrabShack (1pm). the weather is holding good it would appear. mid 70's in Augusta, no rain forecast along my route.
  8. I bought my Tour Deluxe on April 3rd and have 9175 miles on it now. There are several riders on this forum that log 30,000 miles a year I think.

  14. Had heavy rain all day yesterday here in Georgia, and light on and off rain today. Supposed to be clear Thursday thru the weekend though, both here in north GA and at Savannah.
  15. This is a racket... The amount of your medical bill is double or more what the hospitals would have accepted from an insurance company.
  16. Both my Father and Stepfather had motorcycles when they were younger. My Dad had a Henderson and my Stepdad an Indian.
  17. I haven't received it yet, and have to have a new tire on before the ride to Savannah this weekend. I'd already bought the Avon 2 months ago when my OEM Bridgestone started to get thin. So, I'll try the BFG next, with the number of miles I'm getting in, it will be next year some time.
  18. Yep. I couldn't sleep and when I took some generic nyquil when I had a cold, I found I could sleep better. The cold is gone, but I have a shot of nyquil before bed most nights. It keeps me from snoring too, which was part of the sleep problem, I'd wake myself up. I get 2-fer packs of the Walmart generic.
  19. I wanted give a plug for Rider's Hill in Dahlonega. I pulled my rear wheel this morning and took it to the tire shop there and they mounted and balanced the Avon Venom I took them for $25. They also have a large selection of tires in stock, at least 400 or more and I'll try to buy my front Avon from them when I need it in another 2,000 miles or so. They have a snack bar in the motorcycle dealership there, nice tables with a big screen TV, dipped premium icecream available as well as a variety of sandwiches. Here's the nice part. I ordered a chili dog and coke while I was waiting for my tire to be mounted (took 15 minutes). The lady at the counter asked me if I was a military vet, to which I replied yes. She said lunch is on us today, no charge..... For those not familiar with this shop, it sells new Aprilia and MotoGuzzis, and has a large consignment area with a variety of makes of bikes. http://ridershill.com/
  20. 62 and retired. Good hunting and fishing and riding nearby. And its only an hour to Atlanta when I want big city life. Been riding since I was 17 except for a few brief periods of time. Have my somewhat ideal trio of motorcycles now. Yamaha Tour Deluxe for long rides Triumph Thunderbird (2001 900cc triple) for short trips Suzuki 200cc dual-sport for riding the forest service roads and trails.

  23. sounds like another good learn to use 2 wheels option would be a 50cc scooter with automatic transmission. probably less intimidating and easier to ride.
  24. report him to the police. You don't even have to mention you're a MC rider.
