The US Yamaha page says: *One year limited factory warranty + Four years Yamaha Extended Service, = Five years coverage: Certain exclusions apply, see terms of each for details. https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/transcontinental-touring/pages/5-year-warranty-coverage we had a thread discussing this late last year. Its not clear to me if the 4 years of Extended Service is included in the base price and how it differs from Warranty. I would think that its not the same as limited factory warranty, or they would have just said "5 years factory warranty" like they did for the RSV and RSTD. I'll see if I can find that thread, but one of the US buyers of the new Venture might chime in? edit: I see different interpretations of what the Extended Service means. I think we have a member who is or was with a Yamaha dealer. Maybe he can give us the true meaning?

Jeff, Don't be bamboozled into taking the bike out if you think it will give you trouble when you have to return it to your shed. Its not worth it.

Ya, I wouldn't want to pay too much extra.. I believe that you can likely avoid paying any US sales tax for an item if it is shipped by commercial carrier. A dealer network may exist for this? The state of New Hampshire which borders Quebec does not have a state sales tax which makes buying things there attractive. But, I would have likely moved on to another machine by now.

so what are the issues and costs of bringing a US model into Canada. I do occasionally see US dealers advertise that they will ship to Canada. I did ship 2 650 Triumphs to Europe about 20 years ago. If I recall it wasn't too difficult. I found someone with an export license and paid him to do the paperwork and arrange the shipping.

That seems too light for a 1200 airhead. per wikipedia it weighs 505lbs wo any luggage and a dry gas tank. and BMW K bikes are not the same as the airheads you quoted. They are much heavier. 387kg = 851 lbs. per https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bike-reviews/bmw/k1200lt/1999/

The linked article you listed did not mention the relatively new HD Street which is a water cooled 500cc or 750cc vtwin in an inexpensive (for HD) package. I find that a strange omission????? https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/motorcycles/2018/street/street-500.html I find the weight of my RSTD a bit difficult to handle in some situations, mostly due to (my poor technique) handling in slow speed turns. A HD Street is high on my list of possible replacement bikes, as is a more traditional HD Sportster. A large HD touring bike is not something I would consider, although I have thought about the 2018 HD Softtail Lowrider (red one above). Actually I am having lunch today near a HD dealer and am planning on doing some tire kicking of the models I've mentioned here. There are a lot of HD's out there. Even if HD Inc completely closed their doors (I doubt it) parts would still be made by 3rd parties for a long time. With the latest CNC machines its easier than ever to make custom engine parts that before. There are people still fabricating parts for Vincents... Re: Large Bore Vtwins... there's Indian now as a competitor to HD.

Attention car owner !!!! Do not attempt to interfere. Your autonomous vehicle is now under the remote control of the Death from Mars Hacker Cartel! Any deviate behavior will result in your vehicle increasing to maximum speed and running over all pedestrians in crosswalks. No one will believe you weren't using illegal drugs, we've been watching you!!!! In order to disable our control of your vehicle you are instructed to hold your credit card in front of the smart screen's selfie camera for scanning and you must enter your pin code using the touch pad. Once we've transferred your credit line to our dark web account and converted the sum to Bitcoins, your vehicle will be returned to your control. Act quickly, we sense a group of pedestrians 30 seconds in front of you. And, please enjoy the remainder of your trip. -
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the 2000 RSV Millenium Edition. I truly enjoyed the few years I had one, and expect its newest owner will also think its special. Long may you run !

Is this the model that gives a shiatsu massage while you're sitting in it?

That doesn't seem right. I sort-of recall the local Walmart selling a box (12oz?) for about $3, which is double the price of rice or barley. So, I did a quick google search for quinoa best price and found: $1.37 Per Lb. (1 pcs) 25 Lb. Case https://www.ifsbulk.com/wholesale-white-quinoa This is a good source. I say that before looking to see what shipping charges they may have.

So, how would you like quality .22lr ammo for 7cents a round? Here's the catch. You need to join a CMP affiliated club. Thats Civilian Marksmanship Program, which used to be the Department of Civilian Marksmanship run by the US military until Clinton decided he didn't want the Guvment involved in training/helping civilians. CMP took over the ex-DCM programs and still has a loose affiliation with the military, but is a non-gov't organization now. CMP runs some matches for service rifle/pistol and distributes the gov't surplus M1 Garands. And -heads up- there are .45acp M1911 surplus pistols going to be available on a very limited basis soon. See: http://estore.thecmp.org/Catalog/Item/4C22ELYSTD-5000 Sales help support the CMP.

So what did camos delete? baby bottles with lentils stored in them? quinoa. An acquaintance from Peru living in the USA gave me a couple of bags of quinoa, and I see it in the grocery stores locally. From what I've read, its a common food in the Andes of S. America and beginning to be grown in the US in high altitude areas that aren't amenable to more common crops. Its supposedly one of the most "perfect" foods there is in terms of vitamin content. I need to try cooking some more with the samples I was given. There is red quinoa and white quinoa, if I recall correctly.

I think its hard to tell what led up to the cager turning into the motorcycle. The biker clearly wasn't "just innocently minding his own business"

A Venture rat bike that I think I've seen a picture of previously is included....

I found an article about cooling starchy foods https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/cooling-resistant-starch#section3 It looks like pasta only gets a maybe...

I'm a reloader here. I have a Dillon 650 for use when churning out large batches of pistol rounds or rifle ammo (.223 and .308 for matches out to 300yds). I use an RCBS Reloader Special single stage for small batches of ammo or large rifle cases. I have a Thumbler tumbler and Dillon vibrator for cleaning and polishing brass, Lee case trimmer, etc. Probably over 20 sets of reloading dies.

I was somewhat kidding, this has been an interesting thread. I have a rather large supply of std white macaroni to use up and baked a large pan of tuna-noodle casserole with mushroom soup, and a can of carrots and one of peas tossed in. Into the fridge it went where it will become a week's worth of lunches. Your statement about refrigerating some high carb items changing them to a less harmful carb intrigues me. I'd never heard that before. I'll need to research that. Bok choy. I bought some bok choy at the market to try in stir fry, its rather pricey at the market. Reading about bok choy on line it was characterized as an oriental cabbage. My ever-cheap brain said, why not use the standard round green cabbage that is inexpensive. Shredded up in my stir fry, cabbage seems a good filler and tasty as well.

I finally decided to pull the trigger on my Venture.

I know you said you don't like vtwins, but I see that some Victory models can be installed with an optional reverse kit. https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2011-Victory-Motorcycles-Victory-Vision-Tour-W--REVERSE-5001497300
