I seem to like epics. So another vote for James Mitchener. Non fiction history. Winston Churchill I used to read a lot of science fiction. Heinlein, Asimov, and others Recently read Gen MacArthur's auto-biography and had to rethink my previous negative opinion of him. Used to read WWII aviation biographies/stories, like 30 Seconds over Tokyo, Flying Tigers, Battle of Britain, etc

After looking at the gas mileage some FI machines are getting, I'm not sure its the panacea I thought it was. Its certainly more complicated and expensive to maintain.

Good advice on the diet and weight control. I've been slowly trying to change my diet, at least I'm thinking about it now and eating more fruit and less sweets. Part of that is changing my buying habits at the supermarket. Part #2 of the plan is to have a fixed exercise program everyday. I have an elliptical exercise machine arriving Monday via Fedex that I plan on using every morning before breakfast. Just like morning PT in the military. Unlike the military, I'll try to avoid packing in the food.

I use Yahoo, and Yahoo filters 90% of the spam and tosses it into the spam folder. They do toss email I want once in a while, so I have to go in the spam folder and review things periodically. But I get much less spam on Yahoo than I used to get on my local ISP. Yahoo learns, ie: I can mark particular senders as spam, and I can set up a blocked list of senders or adresses.

If the spammer is trully changing email address every day. it will be hard to stop. And email headers can be faked so they aren't really origonating from where they say they are. Its the Free Enterprise system. If you have a filter that can block email on key words in the text of the message, you can set it to kick out mail that way

I actually tried the wii fit yesterday besides looking at several ellipticals at nearby stores and online. The wii seems like it would be very good for balance and coordination in addition to muscle tone. That said, I think the elliptical is what I want first, but would take a wii if someone gave me one or might eventually get one. I just went ahead and bought a new Schwinn 420 elliptical exerciser. Otherwise I'll procrastinate forever. I'm going to set it up here in my living room, where it will remind me everyday to use it.

I'm real close to buying an elliptical exerciser. Am looking at one of the Schwinn 420 models. I want something to work my cardiovascular system everyday and I have to exercise my rt arm and shoulder where it got crunched a couple years ago. It appears to be a good whole body exerciser, what do those think that have one?

I like it. It looks like Honda's answer to the Vstrom which I also like. It would be fun to ride this Honda and the Vstrom back to back for comparison.

Been there, done that a long time ago. To many crazies on MC's and too much truck traffic these days. There are better places to ride.
