  1. Good luck....
  2. A 200-250cc class machine will be easier to learn and more forgiving of mistakes. A 350cc and up machine will have a heavier chassis and better top end if you think he would tire of a machine with a 65mph top end too quickly to make it worthwhile. My 200cc Suzuki does everything I want it to do, handles ok on dirt and gravel, and can get me home quickly on the asphalt if needed. I wouldn't want to get over 100 miles from home on it (although when I was a teenager I rode a 90cc Honda 125 miles back and forth to school several times a year). There's an online travellog of a guy who rode a Yamaha TW200 from the mid west all the way to Alaska and back carrying camping and fishing gear.
  3. I bought a Suzuki DR200 last summer. It would be a good choice. Its a 2006. I bought it off Craigs List for $2300 with 2,000 miles on it in near-new condition. It's good on the gravel roads and dirt trails, as well as being able to run on the 55mph local highways if needed for short distances. I've seen several of these around the area ridden by teenagers. http://randyrick.us/motorcycles/Suzuki/2009_0724Dr200inMud0004sm.JPG

  5. A good story about a dealer is welcome news from time to time.
  6. Here's a shot taken out my back door in sunny Georgia 2 minutes ago... I don't see the flowers though???????
  7. I bet it would be easy to add an accessory hotdog grill to the firebox...
  8. has anyone tried just turning a new can of (opened) brake fluid upside down on top of the open reservoir? as the level of old fluid goes down, the new fluid would be fed from the can? I think this should work????
  9. Been retired 2 years. I have plenty to do, and do it when I want to or not. I don't miss work at all. The pay isn't great, but I have enough toys that I don't need to spend much to live. And I love to eat fresh fish and venison, so my meal choices are simple.
  10. If you come to Georgia, be careful...... we'll make you eat big big plate of BBQ...
  11. The video should also apply to any 2nd gen. The engines are still the same design. Thanks, I bid on one.
  12. That jack looks mechanically 98% the same as the Sears red jack.
  13. good buy Charlie....
  14. I didn't see listed 'pretending you're Richard Petty heading for the finish line on the Atlanta beltway'...
  15. Ya I did. Little Girl. Daddy, I have a dollar, can I buy you something. Daddy. ok, I'd really like a cup of coffee. Little Girl. Ok, lets go to McDonalds. Daddy. Ok here we go Little Girl. Woo Wee !!!! Daddy stops car just outside door so he can watch girl go to counter to get coffee.. Wierd things happen inside McDonalds Little girl comes out crying. Daddy the Dork won't give me the cup of coffee because he says I might burn myself. I know what hot water is, I help Moomy cook all the time and she's taught me. Daddy. Waves to Mc Donald's Dork, its ok. Ok go back in to little girl. Little girl goes back in to get coffee because Daddy says its ok and is watching. Mob of angry bikers with tattoos, black leather jackets comes out with NO COffee, pushing the little girl, and threatens Nice Daddy who was trying to give girl lesson in self sufficiency at McDonalds. Instead, little girl gets a lesson in mob behavior.
  16. Sorry. I don't get it. So what were you upset about? A girl buying someone a cup of coffee for some reason that you don't have the faintest idea about and are fantasizing into all kinds of ill intent and non-existant happenings?
  17. the fuel filter on the early Tours are the same as the newer ones. So the PDF maintenance guide posted here on the forum for the Ventures will apply. You have to remove the tankand both side covers and inner cover, and then the fuel pump and then the filter is underneath. Many people relocate it with an aftermarket type filter. But since there is only 1 filter for all 4 carbs, a dirty fuel filter would affect all 4 cylinders.
  18. Whew !!! I thought we were getting kinky.....
  19. Thanks.
  20. Lincoln Continental
  21. talk to the Small Business Administration, both federal and state/commonwealth. They may be able to give you much if not all the specific information that you need.
  22. Good to hear Bob.
  23. poors man's Arctic Cat
  24. The ebay auction closed for $5100. Reserve was $5000 Lets see whether or not anyone posts here about winning the auction. The last couple of bids in the auction were by bidders with 0 previous ebay activity. When I see that, it makes me suspect that shill bidders were used to drive up the price. But I've been wrong before.... It could just mean that the 1st gen in xtra nice condition brought in some people who don't usually frequent ebay.
  25. probably Motoguzzi Falcones, maybe MV Agusta http://www.devce.demon.co.uk/falcone/guzzlice.jpg
