at least it wasn't someone's child chasing a ball down the street. Hopefully his insurance agent saw the video and denied any damage claim?

Make sure the shims were replaced in the right spots. See the FAQ on replacing the rear wheel. Its easy to get it wrong.

I know Moly60 seems to be the holy grail here. But.... I have trouble seeing why something like Moly60 is any better than regular lithium axle grease in this application or for fitting splines together. Where something like metal-to-metal heavy pressure wear takes place, like 2 gears constanting turning against each other, then yes, moly is one of the best. But for splines with low pressure and little actual friction, I don't get it... Theoretically speaking, of course.

Good news. When the Warden is feeling down, everyone feels the pain

I was somewhat surprised the last time I went for blood tests that the nurse said I wasn't supposed to drink even black coffee since the previous midnight. In the past drinking black coffee was OK. So I did some internet research and discovered that UNFILTERED coffee contains high amounts of cholesterol, specifically boiled coffee like from a percolator or from a french press. I also expect that the permanent filter type coffee makers fall into this category. I've been using a french press for several years. As an experiment bought one of the one-cup filter holders and box of small paper filters for it. I poured the coffee from my french press thru it, and there was a lot of sediment caught by the paper filter. So, I'm using a paper filter for all my coffee from now on, as I do have high cholesterol.

I'm led to believe that the build up of plaque on the walls of arteries is relatively common. Thats what leads to a heart attack though, so how serious is yours? Your doctor will have to say. I'm taking an 81mg aspirin daily which helps thin the blood a bit and helps alleviate blockages. The cleaning out (roto-rooting) of blocked arteries is fairly common, but I have to believe that anything done inside the heart has to be considered a serious and somewhat risky procedure.

A lot of traffic uses that road. It will be a major detour until fixed.

I have had USAA auto and home insurance for 30 years or more. I discussed insuring my motorcycles with them a number of years ago and was told that USAA recommended using another company. USAA is expanding their customer base, they aren't much different than any other commercial company any more. I should probably shop my home and auto policies for a better rate.

Looks good, all you need to complete the set is a tachometer..

Need some help identifying an RSTD.

This should get merged into the history section article on the early Royal Stars along with pictures of each of the variations. -
I've got a carbtune here in Dahlonega that I'll take, to Georgia maintenance day or can be used anytime.

Someone should update the History section on the early Royal Stars, because that says they were just made from 1996-1998. -

If the bike pictured has the 98hp, then the engine has been altered from stock. -

Its one of the early Royal Stars with the V4 engine. But has the small carbs and small air boxes (and no lower wind break) which limit the horsepower as noted. See the history page here on the forum. Several forum members ride them as is. Some mod them to increase the HP. If it were me, I'd probably ride it as is, but I don't ride over normal interstate speeds. Probably a left-over sold new in 2000. -
The link you furnished takes one to a paypal login asking for ID and password. I think if you actually login, you may have bought them... You should change the link.
-
I think what this 'linked to Paypal' is about is that ebay can now automagically debit your paypal account for any ebay fees they feel you owe them. They seem to now offer that as an option to sellers as a safer class of clientelle to ONLY do business with. And it forces buyers to maintain paypal, even if they might not otherwise want to, or may wish to pay ebay fees manually, even if with paypal.

I took one of the Triumph demo rides of about 15 miles on the Rocket III 2 years ago. I was surprised at how easily it handled considering its shear mass. I'm not sure that it wouldn't make a good tourer for the right person though. I think the right person would be a big fella, bigger than I am. I've seen a posting from a pair of Brits who each bought Rocket IIIs and went coast to coast accross the USA on them, and seemed satisfied with the comfort on a long trip. I decided to buy the Tour Deluxe over the Rocket III. I currently own a 2001 Triumph Thunderbird (water cooled 855cc triple) and have previously owned 3 60/70's vintage Triumph twins.

A 1964 Honda 90cc. The older pushrod version of the 90cc.I put 30,000 miles on it in the 3 years I had it before upgrading to a used 305 Superhawk in 1967.
