Dave, the only thing your rig is missing is a LaZboy recliner...

Bongobob is selling parts after having a trike conversion. I think there are a couple others selling parts from either conversions or recent salvage operations....

Looks like it has all the chrome giblets already?? That'll take the fun out of adding them one one at a time... Looking forward to seeing the new RSV at one of the Georgia M&E's soon....

Ben, You've got better humor about this than most of us would in your place. Good news overall. heal fast & I expect you'll be talking with a physical therapist to start exercises soon.

Here's about where to shift unless you are pushing it, heavily loaded, or going up a steep hill, in which case add 5-10mph to each shift point. 1-->2 15mph 2-->3 30mph 3-->4 45mph 4-->5 65mph somewhere on this forum there is a chart showing the rpm in each gear, and the redline for each gear. 3,000 rpm seems to be the sweet spot.

I remember you.. You're the guy who offered to help get rid of all the extra beer in the keg so as it wouldn't tempt everyone else...

many of them have a whine, some more-so than others. It bothered me at first, but I have since compared the noise it makes to other similar sized motorcycles, and they all make noises of some kind or another. So I just ignore it. The windshield seems to refect the noise at the rider and make it worse than it really is.

Thanks. I may want to lower the 2000 MM RSV that I'm acquiring in 2 weeks. I'm ok with my RSTD as is though.

So the kickstands from the 1996-2001 Royal Stars are shorter than the new kick stands? And interchangeable ?

RSTD Headlight Rim
RandyR replied to les45's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Ok. sorry. The US current RSTD's have a hooded headlight rim, as does mine. There is also a visor which extends in front of the rim which is an accessory. -
RSTD Headlight Rim
RandyR replied to les45's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Sorry, no the hood isn't standard on the US models. If your new bike came with a hood on the headlight, then your dealer added it. -
Happy Easter. May God bless your house and all you do.

I always do this anyway if possible, common sense as many have said. I just looked up the Georgia, USA law. It doesn't say 20mph, its say 'reasonable and proper' and applies to all roads, not just 4-lanes. Move-Over-Law: Georgia Code, Title 40-6-16. a. The operator of a motor vehicle approaching a stationary authorized emergency vehicle that is displaying flashing yellow, amber, white, red, or blue lights shall approach the authorized emergency vehicle with due caution and shall, absent any other direction by a peace officer, proceed as follows: 1.Make a lane change into a lane not adjacent to the authorized emergency vehicle if possible in the existing safety and traffic conditions; or 2. If a lane change under paragraph (1) of this subsection would be impossible, prohibited by law, or unsafe, reduce the speed of the motor vehicle to a reasonable and proper speed for the existing road and traffic conditions, which speed shall be less than the posted speed limit, and be prepared to stop. b. The operator of a motor vehicle approaching a stationary towing or recovery vehicle or a stationary highway maintenance vehicle that is displaying flashing yellow, amber, or red lights shall approach the vehicle with due caution and shall, absent any other direction by a peace officer, proceed as follows: 1. Make a lane change into a lane not adjacent to the towing, recovery, or highway maintenance vehicle if possible in the existing safety and traffic conditions; or 2. If a lane change under paragraph (1) of this subsection would be impossible, prohibited by law, or unsafe, reduce the speed of the motor vehicle to a reasonable and proper speed for the existing road and traffic conditions, which speed shall be less than the posted speed limit, and be prepared to stop. c . Violation of subsection (a) or (b) of this Code section shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500.00.

Its good we have motorcycles to work on, otherwise we'd have nothing to do with all our spare time...

you mean you didn't stop to go fishing anywhere along the route. What a wasted opportunity???? congrats on the new ride.

Cylinder #1 Burns oil ONLY when HOT
RandyR replied to mellco's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
My 1st impression is that you may have an oil leak in the heads somewhere. If you were burning oil, your plug would normally be fouled. -

I'd have to think twice about even riding with those kind of premiums.

I want to thank Eddidy who contacted me and compared insurance rates from several companies with what I was being quoted for renewal, and saved me some $$$ with a Georgia policy that offers discounts for multiple vehicles. Thanks Eddy

Its time to renew my motorcycle insurance policy with Progressive. I have Comprehensive and Collision on my RSTD and liability only on my Triumph and Suzuki. I am going to have to add a 4th bike later this month when I pick up the Millenium RSV I've bought. Progressives base/minimum price for liability only is $75. They are charging me the full $75 for 2nd and 3rd bikes, and I presume the 4th as well. Since I can only ride 1 machine at a time, and the policy doen't cover other riders, I feel there should be a substantial discount for insuring bikes 2, 3, 4, etc. But there's not. Do other US companies provide a better multi-bike discount ( I've seen the horrible charges our Canadian friends are paying..)
