  1. The one I saw had a big bubble running under it. cheap cheap cheap... I'll be surprised if its clear coated over it.
  2. Gary, I know that must have been a lot of fun after the months of work you put into this project. Hopefully we'll see the end result at Don's Maintenance Day.
  3. Bummer, Do you have a link to the 15 lb pump Please? thx
  4. Had the wind blow over a Honda GL500 about 15 years ago. Not a good thing to have happen...
  5. I'm arriving on a bus at 10:10pm Friday night. I'll need a place to stay. then pick up the bike on Saturday morning. Will want to tighten up all the bolts. change the rear gear oil, check air pressure, take a quick short trip wo trailer, then add the trailer & check all the lights. Put a can of Seafoam in the tank. Take another short trip. Then go for a good ride. My first stop will likely be Norwood where there's some family history.
  6. I received the title for the Millenium and a registration for the trailer. I'll pick up plates for them both on Monday. Will pick it up next Saturday the 24th of April.
  7. Its always good to have a spare set of wheels...
  8. I read Douglas MacArthurs autobiography not long ago. Its a good history of the US Army's war in the pacific. And MacArthur has nothing but praise for the Aussies who supported him and fought alongside his US troops.
  9. so hows the leg doing Annie?
  10. Dave, the only thing your rig is missing is a LaZboy recliner...
  11. Bongobob is selling parts after having a trike conversion. I think there are a couple others selling parts from either conversions or recent salvage operations....
  12. Looks like it has all the chrome giblets already?? That'll take the fun out of adding them one one at a time... Looking forward to seeing the new RSV at one of the Georgia M&E's soon....
  13. Ben, You've got better humor about this than most of us would in your place. Good news overall. heal fast & I expect you'll be talking with a physical therapist to start exercises soon.
  14. Here's about where to shift unless you are pushing it, heavily loaded, or going up a steep hill, in which case add 5-10mph to each shift point. 1-->2 15mph 2-->3 30mph 3-->4 45mph 4-->5 65mph somewhere on this forum there is a chart showing the rpm in each gear, and the redline for each gear. 3,000 rpm seems to be the sweet spot.
  15. I remember you.. You're the guy who offered to help get rid of all the extra beer in the keg so as it wouldn't tempt everyone else...
  16. many of them have a whine, some more-so than others. It bothered me at first, but I have since compared the noise it makes to other similar sized motorcycles, and they all make noises of some kind or another. So I just ignore it. The windshield seems to refect the noise at the rider and make it worse than it really is.
  17. Not surprising. Lot of people still out of work, or working lower paying jobs than they were 5 years ago.
  18. Thanks. I may want to lower the 2000 MM RSV that I'm acquiring in 2 weeks. I'm ok with my RSTD as is though.
  19. So the kickstands from the 1996-2001 Royal Stars are shorter than the new kick stands? And interchangeable ?
  20. Ok. sorry. The US current RSTD's have a hooded headlight rim, as does mine. There is also a visor which extends in front of the rim which is an accessory.
  21. Sorry, no the hood isn't standard on the US models. If your new bike came with a hood on the headlight, then your dealer added it.
  22. Happy Easter. May God bless your house and all you do.
  23. I always do this anyway if possible, common sense as many have said. I just looked up the Georgia, USA law. It doesn't say 20mph, its say 'reasonable and proper' and applies to all roads, not just 4-lanes. Move-Over-Law: Georgia Code, Title 40-6-16. a. The operator of a motor vehicle approaching a stationary authorized emergency vehicle that is displaying flashing yellow, amber, white, red, or blue lights shall approach the authorized emergency vehicle with due caution and shall, absent any other direction by a peace officer, proceed as follows: 1.Make a lane change into a lane not adjacent to the authorized emergency vehicle if possible in the existing safety and traffic conditions; or 2. If a lane change under paragraph (1) of this subsection would be impossible, prohibited by law, or unsafe, reduce the speed of the motor vehicle to a reasonable and proper speed for the existing road and traffic conditions, which speed shall be less than the posted speed limit, and be prepared to stop. b. The operator of a motor vehicle approaching a stationary towing or recovery vehicle or a stationary highway maintenance vehicle that is displaying flashing yellow, amber, or red lights shall approach the vehicle with due caution and shall, absent any other direction by a peace officer, proceed as follows: 1. Make a lane change into a lane not adjacent to the towing, recovery, or highway maintenance vehicle if possible in the existing safety and traffic conditions; or 2. If a lane change under paragraph (1) of this subsection would be impossible, prohibited by law, or unsafe, reduce the speed of the motor vehicle to a reasonable and proper speed for the existing road and traffic conditions, which speed shall be less than the posted speed limit, and be prepared to stop. c . Violation of subsection (a) or (b) of this Code section shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500.00.
  24. Its good we have motorcycles to work on, otherwise we'd have nothing to do with all our spare time...
