Yes. Good news. Don't overdo it, but follow the physical therapists directions...

The RSV I bought last month had 2k on ME880's. I've put another 2500miles on them and they are ok. They handle very well. But. I'm keeping a close eye on them and keeping the air pressure up in them.

I don't get it. It really does seem to be open season on motorcyclists in a lot of places. if that same motorist killed a pedestrian, they'd be facing manslaughter charges.

buying 2007 RSV info
RandyR replied to mikesmold's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Dragonrider has a Vstar 1300 tourer which appears to be a very good bike. But much smaller than a Royal Star Venture. DragonRider is tied up today with his wife Charlene in the hospital -
sounds to me like the side lights are wired wrong, and should be on all the time like the tail lights.

buying 2007 RSV info
RandyR replied to mikesmold's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
No problems that would stop someone from buying it. Take a look at the 2nd gen tech library to see what things people work on. Some have a whine in the clutch basket, but its not any noisier than most motorcycles. A 2007 should stil have 2 or more years of a transferable factory warranty. With low miles on it, it might need the fuel system cleaned up by draining the gas and putting in fresh with some SeaFoam. I'd probably change the engine oil and rear gear oil in it also. Is it a dealer demo, or a privately owned used machine? -
I read McArthur's autobiography recently, and my opinion of him changed from a negative one as him as a warmonger (based on what I had previously believed his zeal to use nuclear weapons in Korea) to one of admiration. he was a military realist who apparently told it like it was. At the end of the major fighting, he was told to imprison the Japanese Emperor by the US War Department. He said, ok, I'll require more divisions, and large scale replacements for 2 more years, plus all necessary supplies to continue the war. Thanks for the YouTube link.

Carburetor type - Model ???
RandyR replied to 2Flights's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I previously did a search for these carbs on the internet and the info I found indicated that they are sold by Mikuni to MC manufacturers only. There is a book on maintenance of Mikuni Carbs, but these carbs aren't in there. I wrote Mikuni an email asking about that, and they replied that one has to refer to Yamaha service guides. I'm not sure about why you would have a leak at road speed only. Maybe the vibration is enough to cause a problem.- 3 replies

There's more than a few Venture riders nearby. Check out the Meet & Eat section for a local icecream run...

I've got one I need to glue up too. What about using a piece of fiber glass cloth inside to strengthen it up a bit? -
I went to 3 launches during the 1970's... All were delayed, and never got to see one... Maybe I should try to catch one of the last shuttle launches. Date: Sept. 16 + Mission: STS-133 Launch Vehicle: Space Shuttle Discovery Launch Site: Kennedy Space Center - Launch Pad 39A Launch Time: 11:57 a.m. EDT STS-133 Description: Space shuttle Discovery will deliver the Express Logistics Carrier 4 (ELC4), a Multi-Purpose Logistics Module (MLPM) and critical spare components to the International Space Station. Date: Mid-Nov. * Mission: STS-134 Launch Vehicle: Space Shuttle Endeavour Launch Site: Kennedy Space Center - Launch Pad 39A Launch Time: To Be Determined STS-134 Description: Space shuttle Endeavour will deliver an EXPRESS Logistics Carrier-3 (ELC-3) and an Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) to the International Space Station.

My one experience with ABS on a motorcycle, a BMW K1100 was bad. The ABS brakes were a constant source of mechanical problems. Hopefully that is not 'normal', but thats my experience.
