  2. A lot dogs get sick that way if they eat food they aren't used to. They aren't the old garbage can tippers I remember from childhood... or it could just be the summer heat... If she acts ok, I wouldn't worry. As long as she didn't get into something trully unhealthy.
  3. Just removed the front wheel of my RSTD and had a new tire put on. I was going to to try it without removing the brake calipers. But as this thread points out, its a 5 minute job to remove the calipers. I also had to loosen the reflectors to get at the upper caliper bolt. Also removed the brakeline keeper on the lower fork to make moving the caliper easier. 2 bricks and a 1inch board fit under the front tire while on the Carbon1 adapter with feet down. That helps support it while the axle is withdrawn.
  4. well, that trumps my Sears MC jack Looks like it has arms that adjust to any frame, if so, then I presume something like the Carbon1 adapter isn't necessary.
  5. Have you discovered the Carbon1 lift adapter yet?
  6. WalMart SuperTech ST7317, about $2. Made by Champion
  7. If you find you're uncomfortable with the height, the two things that can be done to improve that situation are: 1 a slightly lower seat mod, 2 lowering links and lowered front forks. While the leveling links may improve handling, they raise the seat height I believe.
  8. ok by me. Amherst is on my way back from Cedar Point.
  9. I don't think its as far as a 1/4 mile from the camping area to the beer coolers on Don's back deck...
  10. +1 for friday night at the BBQ place up 58
  11. 40 miles = 1 gallon, so it shouldn't be an overflow. Lets see what others say...
  12. If you fill the tank full to the top, then park it in the sun. The gasoline will expand enough to run out the overflow hose.
  13. mmmm.. cheescake.
  14. nice color scheme.....
  15. I'll bring my shim kit and an extra tool. I have a few of Gary's shim swap tables as well and a handy extractor tool he made. Not sure whether I'll attend the clinic or not. I was planning on going to Cedar Point on Friday to ride the roller coasters.
  16. trying to make too sharp of a turn at low speed can bite you if you're not careful, as has been noted. The bike is easy to handle, but is not a 400lb machine. Just take it easy at first. You might even consider taking a rider safety/training course on a loaner lightweight machine. Get the price down $1,000. You might also take a look in the classified section of this forum for a used machine.
  17. way to go girl....
  18. check the flow coming out of the petcock to make sure its not restricted.
  19. I think I'm going to buy stock in whatever company it is that makes the ABS glue that's holding them together...
  20. There is a rally in western Canada. Organize a rally for the western US.
  21. Good news. I pulled the compressor out in the sunlight and looked at the oil level gauge again. Its full. I made a mistake in the way I was looking at it. I've never had a compressor before and I learned a few things here. So hopefully I'm good to go. I justified the expense of getting a compressor for my motorcycles saying to myself I could use this for driving a nail gun to do a new roof myself, and for spray painting. I bought a tire pressure gun with a stem clip-on for it with its own pressure gauge and pressure release, that makes checking and filling the tires much easier.
  22. Thanks. I filled it when new. I'll run it a bit next week and watch how much oil it consumes after being filled (again).
  23. Thanks. I will be close to Tractor Supply this afternoon, so its easy to stop back in and get the right oil. And the Yamaha dealer is right down the street, so I might as well order the new petcock I need...
  24. I recently bought a 10 gallon 115psi Jobsmart compressor at Tractor Supply Inc. It came with 1 quart (or maybe liter) of oil. 2/3 of the oil was used when new to fill it up to a sight level mark. I've run it maybe 4 hours of run time, and it just drank the remaining 1/3 liter of oil. The book with it, which is a loose chinese translation (I think) just says, use the proper oil to keep it filled to the middle of the sight glass. The oil looks like about a 10 weight oil. Light weight stuff. Do I need to look for oil specifically labeled air compressor oil, or can I use a light weight automotive oil, or something readily obtained and recognized?
