I think I'm going to buy stock in whatever company it is that makes the ABS glue that's holding them together...

There is a rally in western Canada. Organize a rally for the western US.

Good news. I pulled the compressor out in the sunlight and looked at the oil level gauge again. Its full. I made a mistake in the way I was looking at it. I've never had a compressor before and I learned a few things here. So hopefully I'm good to go. I justified the expense of getting a compressor for my motorcycles saying to myself I could use this for driving a nail gun to do a new roof myself, and for spray painting. I bought a tire pressure gun with a stem clip-on for it with its own pressure gauge and pressure release, that makes checking and filling the tires much easier.

Thanks. I filled it when new. I'll run it a bit next week and watch how much oil it consumes after being filled (again).

Thanks. I will be close to Tractor Supply this afternoon, so its easy to stop back in and get the right oil. And the Yamaha dealer is right down the street, so I might as well order the new petcock I need...

I recently bought a 10 gallon 115psi Jobsmart compressor at Tractor Supply Inc. It came with 1 quart (or maybe liter) of oil. 2/3 of the oil was used when new to fill it up to a sight level mark. I've run it maybe 4 hours of run time, and it just drank the remaining 1/3 liter of oil. The book with it, which is a loose chinese translation (I think) just says, use the proper oil to keep it filled to the middle of the sight glass. The oil looks like about a 10 weight oil. Light weight stuff. Do I need to look for oil specifically labeled air compressor oil, or can I use a light weight automotive oil, or something readily obtained and recognized?

I read that somewhere too. I think its just someone flapping their jaw. The V4 engine was not invented by Harley and has been used in motorcycles prior to the Venture. yes Harley had a prototype V4 about that time frame.

Saturday, July 10 will be the monthly GA M&E. Blackjack should announce the ride before then.

We can probably get a ride together while you're in Helen. And as long as its a non-weekend/non-holiday day, I wouldn't mind having a wienerschnitzel at Hans restaurant. Otherwise traffic in Helen can be prohibitive. I'm 40 minutes away from Helen. Others are nearby. Randy R

Pastor Paul & Loehring, I'd really like to make this ride, particularly since the finish line is in my back yard... But I'm already committed to working as a volunteer for a local organization this weekend. I'll be there in spirit.

Has to be licensed. Titled depends on your state. For tires, its usually cheaper to buy trailer tires already mounted on new rims. The chain Tractor Supply inc seems to have the best trailer tire prices where I'm at.

where's the cup holder?

Not near a major airport which makes it more difficult. Probably Jacksonville or Savannah.

My first trailer was a tilt. I rode this 900# beast up the trailer (got it all the way up too) and IT DID NOT TILT BACK DOWN. Maybe it was a bad build on the trailer, not sure, but let me tell you. You do not want to be at that severe of an angle with these heavy bikes. In the end, as I was trying to ease it back down the ramp, the front tire lost traction and began to slide. Needless to say, I dropped it and busted a lower fairing before I ever put 50 miles on the bike. I'd never use one again on this large a bike. That's just me tho. I try to learn from my bad experiences. LOL OK. thanks for sharing that. I understand. My BMW would do the same thing, but was 100lbs lighter. It helped to either have someone with me to push down on the front of the trailer bed, or load the trailer (attached to my car) with the front on a downhill slope to make it easier. If the bed is slippery enough to not give the tires traction, then thats another problem. I'm making a reminder to myself to put some paint with grit in it in the center of my trailer bed if I try this. But you've made me hesitate to try. I have to put a new bed in the trailer in any case, the old bed is starting to rot and I wouldn't load anything heavier than a light dirtbike.

ride the bus or fly. It probably won't cost you any more than gas for your pickup truck. If the seller won't pick you up at the terminal, one of us probably would be willing to. Then ride it home. Here's an optional plan.... VR member 1 takes you to Arkansas, 2 takes you to memphis, 3 takes you 1/2 way to your destination, 4 takes you to the new bike. sort of like the travelling bear.... OK, I'll bite. Why not? I have an 8 foot tilt bed trailer that I've used many times in the past for my BMW and Triumphs.
