  2. I-95 for the fastest route if you time it to pass thru NY at 3AM Otherwise take one of the bypasses north of the city. I-287 to the Garden State Parkway, to NJ Turnpike, then pick up I-95 again just before crossing into Delaware. Toll roads.
  3. I want to start an autobody repair shop in that town...

  8. My understanding is that the Morgans currently being sold are not liquid column. They have a solid metal rod in them instead of mercury.
  9. Takes about 30 minutes. I just did mine. DOT 4. I took off the left side plate aka fake fins. held on by 3 hex heads. Makes getting at the bleeder a little easier. While a brake bleeder is nice to have, all you really need is a long piece of tubing to drain into a can. Open the bleeder as you start to squeeze the clutch lever, and close it when the lever is fully depressed. Every 5-6 squeezes, check the fluid level. Sounds like I'd clean out the reservoir before bleeding. Use a turkey baster to suck out the fluid, wipe it out clean with a towel . Then fill with fresh fluid to start the bleeding procedure. Clean the rubber expansion gasket under the cover too.
  10. The only gotcha might be if the previous owner changed the carb jetting along with the after market pipes. Some people do that. You might ask the PO if he tweaked the carbs any? I'm thinking about going back to stock pipes on the 2000 RSV I bought 2 months ago for the same reason. too loud for me. Although it is an attention getter which might be useful at times.
  11. way to go .....
  12. twist the wick
  13. Call Yamaha customer service and tell them this should never happen, and isn't a normal wear item, and should be covered by warranty. Or you might just want to call another dealer.
  14. I wonder if this will become a pregnant experience in a few months ??
  15. success !!! A lead lined jock cup, and you should be ready to ride....
  16. I'll bet that companies have to report sales figures to US Dept of Transportation. I just sent them an email asking that very question. Lets see what they say... The web page says allow 4 days for an answer.
  17. 20-30,000 miles per belt seems like lower life than what I've been led to expect by new bike sales critters.
  18. He rode with us Saturday. I think there's a picture of him in the Georgia M&E thread. he's doing ok. btw, he said he needs to sell the 2 1st gen parts bikes he has.. (plug) as he has to move soon.

  20. You're a lucky guy Buddy... But you already knew that...
  21. Thanks Goose. I want to add tach and gauges. Hopefully you can get yours working without too much hassle. I'm going to be looking around at MD at what others are using.
  22. let us know how we can help? $10,000 damage = felony hard time in Georgia
  23. Not a stealer... There is a dedicated (trustworthy) motorcycle tire shop here in town. Aren't I a lucky guy... Its part of Riders Hill in Dahlonega, GA. This is the first front tire replacement on my 08 RSTD at 11,600 miles. So I wasn't too worried about bearings. I recall a thread where someone (Goose I think) wrote about using a syringe like needle to lube the sealed bearing on these bikes. Haven't ever seen that done. Maybe its something I could get him to demo at MD next week.
  24. while we're on the topic.. Had a funny one happen. The Millennium I recently acquired only came with 1 key and a key tag. the PO said it was the way he got it when new. I sent the keycode from the tag to Ken Veit who's a locksmith, and he made me a pair of new keys and mailed them to me, just like he did for my RSTD. The new keys didn't work (not even close to the same cut). I'd heard about the keycode being under the gascap swingout cover. Checked that on my RSTD, and the number wasn't the same as a known good keycode. So, this made a good excuse to ride over to Calhoun, GA and meet with Ken after his regular work hours. He measured the cuts in my one good key, and then programmed his key making machine and it spit out a pair of new good keys for me. And using the measurements he took with a caliper, he was able to tell me what the keycode really was... So, in this case, the dealer had to have given the PO the WRONG key code tag with the bike when it was new.... And, Ken's wife fed me supper to boot.... nice people.
