At 80mph in 5th gear on your RSV, you're only churning about 3700 rpm on an engine that will run up to 6000 rpm. Drop her into 4th and run her up to as fast as she'll go. 4th is still an overdrive.

I suggest attending one of the Meet & Eats in your area, and looking at and trying out some of the other styles of seats.
-
You might find someone who will swap seats with you. Maybe even throw in a few $$$ as it looks like you have a custom job of some kind. Welcome to the forum. I picked up my 2000 used in Iowa this spring.

Now thats a good looking Tour Deluxe.

You really shouldn't need a tach. Just increase the idle ever so slightly while doing the carbtune, then set it back down when done.

I'm proud of him too.... Go Army... So, did the Army send him to a GED school as part of his enlistment? I haven't kept up with the current programs.
-
That seems to be the trend, doesn't it? Motorcycle riders don't pay as much road use taxes, property tax, and gasoline tax, so good riddance to second class citizens.

Anyone planning on going to the Wheels thru Time MC museum in Maggie Valley? I'm thinking I'll go there then on to the KOA campground. http://www.wheelsthroughtime.com/

pulled over for going through red light last night

ditto Georgia. Another legal argument if it comes to that... "the light is defective, I waited and it didn't change colors'. -
Don. I'm not sure I could deal with all that you have. You can beat this....

Harley has too much mystique built up around being American built to move out of the country.

So far so good. 2 nights in the house, because she's barking when left alone too long outside. And no pee or poop in the house so far, but she does get me up early to let me know she wants out. Then heads for the edge of the woods to do her thing... amen on the red flasher needed at night.... had her first puppy shots and dewormed yesterday...

New dog at RandyR's house, introducing Filly the Puppy. She's a 12 week old Pyrenees mix. I expect she'll be a 90 lb dog when fully mature. Last night was her first time away from her mother and litter mates, so she was lonesome. But very friendly and intelligent. She'll be a great dog. http://randyrick.us/dogs/Filly1.JPG

Mark, Glad you're out riding.... How's the racing season this year? I'm loving the Millenium you helped me find, I've already worn out the rear tire...

Halogen Brake Light Bulb Replacement for RSV?
RandyR replied to First_N_Last's topic in Watering Hole
thats what we need. more chrome... btw here's a comparison chart. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-technical-articles/triumph/brake-lights/light-bulbs.htm from another source: Though they are spendy, the best bulb you can use in place of 1157 is a 3496. You can get them from your local Honda dealer. Part number is 34906-SL0-A01. It draws the same amount of current as 1157, but is much more efficient. It produces 43 candlepower on the bright (brake or turn) filament, and 3.5 candlepower on the dim (tail or parking) filament. It also has a nickel-plated base that is much more corrosion resistant than the plain brass base of an 1157, so it’s less likely to stick in the socket. Sylvania 3496 Long Life are $5.99 a pair from Amazon. -
Which answers a question I had in my mind about whether or not anyone ever used a tube on our bikes...

I have a 4x8 much like the one you described. I used it to haul 2 bikes and numerous boxes of stuff (more than 800lbs) from Maryland to Georgia, and have used it for a BMW and/or Triumph numerous times since. I haven't hauled an RSV/RSTD in it yet though.
