I'm with you 100% George, I tried to keep my mouth shut....but I can't. The Oberlin Inn treated us very badly a few years back, and although it's closer, I never forget getting shafted. They will NEVER see another penny from me, ever. Y'all can stay where you want, but I'll drive 10 more miles to make sure I hurt them where it hurts most...in their pocket book

83 Venture lives...sort of
Squidley replied to jeffg's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It's a labor of love Jeff...... -
I dont personally have any experience with Ducati's, but they dont call them "Monster" for nothing. A well deserved "Thank You" for your son as well

Jeff, There is a ton of information here on the site, you could sit for weeks and not read all of it. Your '83 sounds like a standard, the royale is the full monty, with radio/cassette CB and CLASS air suspension. If the bike has been setting as long as you have been told it will need lots of TLC. The carbs will definitely need attention, all fluids will need changing and so on. Up at the top of the forum page on the 2nd blue line, there is a search option. Type in what your looking to learn about and it will bring up all the posts with that criteria. It will save you a lot of time with getting questions answered. The 1st gen Tech Library in the forum area is a great source of information also....Welcome to the club.

Ron, I personally have never heard of oil leaking from an AIS, thats not to say it's not so. I know this may seem like a dumb question, but are you sure it's not leaking from somewhere else and finding it's way to that AIS box and leaking off of it? As far as I know, there is no oil involved with that system, strictly emissions and vacuum.

It was a sad end to my day

Never easy to loose anyone Margaret, but I'm envious of you that you had him for so long. The memories you have of him will be good ones, and he will always continue to guide you throughout the rest of your days....all the best to you and your family. -
Zipcode, Zipcode, Zipcode....What an awesome idea bro! Had an EXCELLENT day today with about 130 miles on the bike It is always great seeing the brethren of Houston and points beyond. A great show for the last day of 2011 and I really needed it...(Lonna Too) Thank you again for thinking of it and happy New Year to all our friends that came and spent time with all the nut cases from the greater Houston and there abouts Texas area!!

Nothing ground shaking here, rode the bikes as much as I could to work and home. Flew up to MD in Ohio and saw all our great brothers and sisters there. The best thing about this year.....was being able to spend it with the family I have chosen for myself. I love this place and the majority of the people here, y'all make my year worth while....Happy New Year Everyone!

Nice reflections Randy, it was good seeing you at MD this year, been way too long. Here's wishing all of us an uneventful year as far as nasty surprises and all the best of health for us all. Take care of yourself my friend
-
I have been there Ken, had to sell a couple of them including my new '08 right before I lost my job. They come and go, but I know how you feel about her, it was hard watching mine go. I do hope the new year is good for you and you can keep her. I really do like the MM's and if I could, I would have one. Take care of yourself and let us know if we can help you with anything.

Well we have Luscious Leroy (aka Oldschool) here in the house! We'll head over to Goode's for lunch then who knows what I am pretty excited about this one, been way too long!!
-
This is shaping up nicely, good idea to have 1 last M&E for the year. Looking forward to seeing everyone again Dave, do they rent guns there at this range?
-
I remember meeting you with my Dad and Lonna in tow and trailering it back home with the Station Wagon. You hauled it with your Maxima wasn't it?
-
You might go to a local body shop and see if they have any paint that is close laying around. I have to say for $33.00 and the shipping thats a good deal, painting is very expensive.
